Since the park scene is finally over, I'll give everyone about a week to finish up their scenes. Feel free to get into new situations if you want, just keep in mind that you'll have to cut them short for the timeskip. Speaking of which, currently the votes seem to be for a few days after today. Night and day are both about even, so as it stands it would be a timeskip to night unless a few more people want another day.

I also had a player express interest in being involved in a more tabletop-styled encounter. Up until now, I haven't done much actual dungeonmastery shit, allowing anyone fighting a boss NPC to just describe for themselves the effects (with the exception being when players didn't post for a while so I had to resolve the attack myself) instead of saying what happens. In said encounter, I'd be more of a hardass, where I'd actually do the D&D thing of telling you when you get hit, mooks can be a threat, trying to punch your way through everything instead of thinking or talking might have negative repercussions, you would have an actual objective that you could fail even if you defeated every enemy, and stuff like that. It would require you guys to work together more, and be more creative (even now you're supposed to be trying to get creative, but that's been hit-or-miss) with how you approach the enemies and the objective, be they bosses or mooks. There'd also be cool loot. So if three or four players want to have a character do that, I'd see about setting that up as a "raid" for you.

I also had another player express interest in longer arcs. I've been leaving it up to you all to decide if you wanted to go further down the rabbit hole with each plot element. If you guys would like to delve deep into any existing arcs, here are the ones I can remember right now.

  • Where is the Tunabomber hiding?
  • Who tried to frame the Democrats with Robamacare?
  • Where is Chengsaw and the Armocado?
  • What is the deal with Geronimo Bay?
  • Whatever happened to Electric Seal God Chad Kroeger?
  • What's the deal with the coffee can?
  • What is Bloodletter planning?
  • That junkyard sure had some interesting stuff in it.
  • Who is Julias Quesar, Emperor Cheesar? And what does it have to do with Cheeto's? Or Pete's Pizza Palace?
  • What was Joe, the UPS driver, transporting that Disco Inferno and Cro-Magnum stole?
  • What's up with Brotherlode?
  • What is the state of Little Athens after the brutal vigilante killing of Leadbull?

And those are just the ones I remember. I'm sure there's plenty more that I'm not recalling right now.

I'm in favor of having a more Dn D-esque raid sort of thing.

For longer arcs, I'm fine with that as mostly things seem relatively episodic except for whatever's going on with the tech characters. I don't really have any preference for which arc we follow as I haven't been paying that close attention to the other areas. I can easily come up with some reason for Levi to tag along/become involved.

I haven't been paying enough attention to know the beginnings of these arcs, but Emperor Cheesar seems like a fun time. Well, as does everything else, but c'mon. He's cheese themed.

Here's how the Cheesar stuff went down. Levi got stoned as fuck after being captured by Didact's characters, the Martian and the Venusian. He tried calling some random pizza place I made up out of the top of my head asking for cheetos. Cue to a scene where something seems to be happening behind the scenes.

For reference, here's the relevant scenes.

Huh.

Well this RP sure lives up to it's namesake. But seriously that sounds fun.

And I just made my exitish post, mostly for completion's sake. I'm not sure if Levi is supposed to do something with the book to get rid of the darkness.

Also, depending on how long the timeskip is, Levi's probably going to be trying to figure out how the red book works, and I'm not sure what exactly would go down as he interacts with the klansman.

Right, so had to fix my internet over the last couple of days. Anyway, longer arcs sounds cool. There are few things that either Doctor Dead or Heavy Metal would involve themselves in.

Like I said, I think I'm going to wait for the timeskip to go in effect, before jumping back into things.

The other thing that would be useful to know is which of you guys already have ideas about where your characters are gonna be after the timeskip (which right now is going to be night time in a few days, since I've given people enough time to vote), you can start working on getting things ready with other players. We're close enough to wrapping things up that if you don't already have an idea of what to do, you can figure it out each other if possible. So that way I can know how many characters aren't going to have stuff to do and will need me to make situations to keep them busy.

Riza will be in her shop. I think AHT said something in Skype about having King Cobra attack the shop, and I'm cool with this.

I've got a couple ideas, but I'm waiting on Pascal's player (forgot his name) to post still.

Doctor Dead will probably look into either Bloodletter or Levi Solomon, chasing down their copies of the Necronomici. In Doctor Dead's civilian identity, she might be involved in further tracking down the Tunabomber. Heavy Metal will readily respond to just about any criminal goings on, though he'd probably chase the Chad Kroeger hook. And obviously just about anything that happens in the Junkyard might involve Heavy Metal, given that he lives there.

Kelso might be hitting up the town for an open coffee joint before going about his hero business. Or he might be in his costume brooding on top of a building someplace. I'm not entirely sure yet.

No prob.

Should we finish the scene now, then? I dunno when the timeskip's gonna be.

[up]Let's see, I said a week, and that was Tuesday, so I'd figure you have until Tuesday or Wednesday to wrap things up. That week was mainly for the restaurant folks, and the hacking folks, to finish up their stuff, so considering how speedy you guys post you still have a few more days if you want to keep doing stuff in that scene.

To take a bit more initiative, I think I'll just lay out a few potential things for the timeskip right here ahead of time, so I know which ones to do and which ones to shelve. Just say here if you want to commit a character to any of these things, almost like a "vote" for every character you have. If a scene gets like 3+ heroes/neutrals who want to be in it, or 2+ villains, then I'll pull the trigger on it for the next timeskip.

These things are more like boss fights and stuff, hence the homogeneous groupings. If you just want to have player-vs-player heroes and villains things, then you don't really need me for much. I can give you a starting point, and I can make another rare macguffin to put at the center of it, but then you can just take over from there. This is supposed to be the patch that is in place for those of you who don't have anything else to do, not the primary focus of the RP, so jump on these only if you can't find other characters to be in scenes with.

  • Heroes only, or maybe some heroic-leaning neutrals:
    • Baron Bitchslap, one of the Whore Forcemen of the Apocalypse, getting his car back from the impound lot. (Since, you know, he broke out of prison recently) Possibly have another member there, such as Horilla, if there's more active people who want in on that. Expect car chase action and shit like that at the beginning, but since I don't railroad this it doesn't have to end that way.
    • I actually don't want to spoil this one, so that I can save it for later (and change the villain(s) involved) in case not enough people are interested and still make it surprising, but suffice it to say, it involves the rodeo.
  • Villains only, or more thiefy neutrals:
    • Senator Strongarm is in town for a fundraising dinner in his honor. He's a former Football Player/Wrestler/Marine/Werewolf Hunter-turned Senator. In addition to all the rich patrons, there'll be some sort of rare item to fight over, too - I already have one in mind, but if anyone has suggestions, I'll see if it's doable. Rail Dale will be in attendance.

And of course, this is just new stuff. If any of you would prefer to hit up a previous story thing, like from that list I mentioned the other day, just say so. There's no minimum player amount for those things, but it would be convenient if you could have a friend or two tag along.

As for the Dungeony/Dragony-style "raid" where it's more hardcore, I'd need to know who the 3 or 4 people interested in that are, or more specifically which characters are gonna want in on that. There's many options for what it could be, which could change depending on who's there. One possibility would be exploring the ruins of Wernhark Tower. We could do some Quesar stuff instead. Or suggest your own idea. Really, it could be anything. Like, seriously, if you want to do the RP version of tower defense, I'd try to make it work.

Sorry for taking so long there, it's been another busy week.

Anyway, post-timeskip Vigil is probably going to be following up on the hacking incident and maybe the Tunabomber plotline. Alannah, I'm not sure about just yet.

I'd be cool going to the Strongarm dinner and I was thinking maybe Uniscorn would stay at Little Athens awhile to watch over it after the whole Leadbull incident.

Kelso could join up on the Baron Bitchslap thing, I'm thinking.

[up][up]The Strongarm thing is mainly for villains and other mischievous folks. It's a chance to have people work together (or in the case villains, balancing greed for the goal with their desire not to die) so I try to make it challenging yet possible to succeed. I can't do that so well otherwise - if there are going to be players on both sides, I'd prefer not to have an NPC there since it detracts from player interaction.

I'm potentially interested in having Levi join up with the Baron Bitchslap plotline. Just from the name alone, the Baron sounds like someone Levi/Isaac would target in his crusade. I'm also interested in the Cheesar plot.
