Are we talking that this could be as bad as what Happened in Chicago a year or two again with the T-rex? because...Well, fuck." Something else bothered him. "Also, I know this may seem like a dumb question, but where the hell are the fucking undead hordes? That kind of shit just doesn't vanish."

"They either returned to their graves, have been destroyed or hiding somewhere. You'd be surprised how much hiding places you can find." Liese said, thoughtfully. "And the...Incident in Chicago was a special case."

"This is all quite dire-sounding, but I fail to see why I am here. Let it not be said that I am unwilling to help, but the walking dead and necromancy are hardly foes you wish to face with a blade alone. "

"Great. Such wonderful help you are." Weird commented. "Hey, here's an idea, suppose this guy's actually trying a powergrab. Attacking the Council's wardens, the rise of the supernatural, people disappearing/leaving the city, I'll bet my left nut that this guy is attempting to rise to power, he just needed to get the Wardens out of the way, which he's done a rather smashing job at."

"How so?" Liese asked, looking at the man. "If this is truly a Necromancer, attacking the Council in any blatant way will be a very very short life for him. The Council does not take Necromancers lightly, and so far he has only attacked on a Paranet meeting. No offense, but this is hardly comparable to a Group of Wardens."

"I mean, he may be trying to weaken them, or possibly, the zombies could be a distraction. It all depends..."

Angelica shook her head at Liese's question. "No...unlike my son, I'm not officially associated with the Council. I was...self-taught." she said with a sheepish smile. The story of how she came into knowledge of the arcane arts was a bizarre one and people often stopped listening when the hellhound/poodle mutt got involved. As the words got more heated, Todd grew more visibly frustrated. The desire for a cold beer was growing steadily.

"Alright, settle down." said Todd, suddenly louder than the others. "First off, O'Connell, maybe you've heard of a guy named Kemmler. He was a necromancer so evil he made Vader look like Mister Rogers. Council managed to put him down. Keep your left nut, though, I'm not interested." His lips felt dry as he continued speaking. "Whatever the motive is, the simple fact is that whoever did this broke the Laws and needs to be punished. No theatrics, no skirting the rules by resurrecting the non-human dead. Just a trial and an execution."

There was once a time when Todd didn't like how the only sentence was death. But he saw what made the executions necessary, he'd seen what being too soft on guilty warlocks would bring about, over and over in the nightmares he'd had for a year after the incident that got him his position.

Todd shuddered and headed into the kitchen, looking for a beer.

Liese nodded as the other Warden laid down the facts. "The main question now, is the Warlock part of a larger group or acts alone on some bootleg of Das Blut, der Geist or Das Herz von Kemmler^note German for The Blood, The Mind and The Heart of Kemmler, the first three books of Kemmler.."

Weird face palmed "Are we sure this guy's related to Kemmler? Because I like to think that not all necromancy stems from the batshit insane Nazi wizard." Weird looked around at the crowd, "I honestly doubt we're going to just get a trial and execution, maybe that's just me, but usually when this crap happens, the Guilty aren't cooperative."

"Logistically, it is more likely than not that it is related. Necromancy has a rather limited reference pool, after all, since most literature pertaining to it is destroyed almost as fast as it is produced. It is a prudent assumption to make that a powerful necromancer would have access to Kemmler's teachings."

"In any case, attachment to Kemmler is academic - the man is long dead."

Liese sighed. "Its possible, but not likely. Imagine learning modern physics without Albert Einstein or Isaac Newton. Kemmlers writings are the most known, and therefore most sought after, writings on the topic." she explained. "

John shook his head. "I'm not trusting the Wardens on this. You involved a police officer, it's now official police business. Unless there isn't a police presence in Detroit anymore...?" He realized the obvious answer. "Well, uh, first order of business should still be to go to what's left of my station. We can get supplies and try to identify our mystery man."

Liese stared at the policeman after the "I don't trust Wardens" statement, wondering he had not noticed that a third of the present people where exactly these or was simply had a profound lack of social skills.

"Running him through the police files might be worth a shot, but I rather doubt the Police Force is capable of taking him on by themselves."

Jacques raised an eyebrow at Liese in an 'are they always like this' sort of way.

"I believe it may be wisest if the Wardens stay away from the precinct, in case of electronic equipment. If you have an avenue you would rather explore," he looked at Liese, "then I wish to join you."

"I think I would like to look at the place of attack." Liese said, thoughtfully.

"She's right. We should see the damn place first."

Todd gave the police officer an incredulous look. "You do realize that there are multiple Wardens in the room, right...?" He sighed. "Anyways, we should probably try to cover more ground. Everyone who wants to take a look at the scene of the attack, raise your hand." Todd raised his own hand.

Jacques raised a hand.

Liese did the same.

"Well, let's go!" Weird stated, he really didn't want to be around this group longer then he had to, for, various reasons.

"Alright, looks like it's settled." said Todd.

Corktown, Southwest Detroit- The scene of the attack.

It made sense that Paranet had met in Corktown- the Italian-Victorian-Gothic architecture, the fact it was the oldest neighborhood in Detroit...there was a lot of old-world vibes flowing around, despite industrialization. Todd stepped out of his car and shuddered as the residue of dark magic washed over him. "No doubt about...there's enough bad mojo here to choke an elephant..." muttered Todd.

Liese nodded and zipped open the bag containing her sword, just in case, before slowly reaching out with her wizard senses to gain a feeling for the surroundings.

Weird glanced at the sword, he pulled out a submachine gun, "Swords? Why not a firearm?"

Jacques drew his own blade. "Firearms have a habit of jamming in the presence of practitioners. As for myself, I did not choose the shape of this weapon. Nor would I if I could.“

Wardens and other wizard-class practitioners might catch a hint of...something about Jacques' blade. Not magic in the way they understood it, but of something supernatural nonetheless. It seemed...comforting.
