Welcome to the discussion thread for the Scion RP 'The Long Road to Heaven.' Here are a few guidelines for the game:

1. Wheaton's Law is in full effect. Don't be a dick, but you can play one on TV. Whatever attitude your character has, I expect the players to not act like pricks.
2. The game is freeform and play-by-post. Auto-hitting and god-modding are, as per usual rules, forbidden. I don't expect player vs. player behavior, but if there is some, sort it out amongst yourselves first.
3. I reserve the extraordinary right and priveliege to invoke the spirit of many a sadistic GM before me and pull your characters through the wringer. Should you come up with any inspired ideas yourselves, feel free to contact me so we can see to their timely implementation.
4. Really, if there's anything you're dubious about, rules questions you want answered, confusion you need clarified, ask me. I'll answer as quickly as I can.
5. I don't mind people going off-topic in here (and I don't mind having non-players pop in to say hi,) but if someone wants to go back on topic, please do so as well.
6. Grammar and spelling at the best of your ability, please, even if English is your secondary language. I'm not expecting perfection.
7. I'll try and do a post once every one or two days, regardless of how many people have posted. If I miss one, gimme a poke.
8. Have fun. Fun is mandatory.

Just to clarify: I'm giving everyone a chance to approach and clarify their relationship with their parent before we move on from here.

...My character is already being called a psychopath? At least with Nadya, you guys waited until after she killed people to do that. Kimiko hasn't killed anyone, yet. She's just been grumpy, dealt with things under the assumption that the ends justify the means, and been a bit arrogant. Not anywhere close to what Nadya has going on.

I think Addie is so far referring to her internally as "The spanish speaking lunatic." ;)

Ken is going to assume things about anyone whose first solution involves killing people. He's a modern US civilian who's led a peaceful life, not a D&D character.

I never said she was sane. I was objecting to her being called a psychopath.

You know, when I first saw the post where Kimiko suggested killing the guards, my first reaction was "So deathy's playing another not-a-psychopath, then."

And, yet, she's nothing like Nadya. Like, for example, she is heavily principled, unlike Nadya who is more of The Unfettered.

How do I make an Occult+Intelligence check on a play-by-post?

You ask the GM politely. The Pesedjet one deals with Anubis, the Aesir with Odin (and, to a lesser extent, Hel,) the Loa with Baron Samedi, the Amatsukami with Izanami-no-Okami, and the Atzlanti with...you get the drill.

Yo. Sorry I wasn't on the last few days. I had some crazy times. First, on Friday, so I was driving all day, until I reached just past Ontario, Oregon when a blizzard hit and I spun off. I was fine, but my car had to get towed and I collapsed. The next day, I got my tires replaced, then hit the road, again. Then, I got pulled over and arrested for "reckless driving" for going well over the speed limit, despite reckless driving being defined by putting others in danger, and there was no one for me to put in danger on the road until the cops came onto it, which is when they got me. I spent 7 hours in jail without my phone and was finally released at 2 AM, when I was given a voucher for a motel room, and they could only give me one. Then, the next day, I found out I'd have to wait until Monday to get my car, but my phone charger was in my car. So I spent some time in the cold freezing my ass off until I went into a JC Penny to get warm where I sat on some steps with my head in my hands holding back tears from the stress and people just started helping me, buying my hot chocolate, some gloves, some shoes, a blanket, a hat, and lunch, perfectly demonstrating communism in action, btw, by using their ability to grant my need without compensation. Then they took me to the police to get a voucher, since I didn't tell them I was in the sitch cause I got arrested, yo, but the police were only able to get me 1 voucher, which they gave the night before, so I was out of luck. Then I walked across town and ended up in a Denny's where I spent the night since I didn't have the money for a motel room. The next day, I went to get my car, but, as it turns out, I had to pay, but I was low on funds, so I didn't have enough. As I was frantically trying to get together enough money, somehow money just appeared in my bank account, and I don't know how, so I paid for my car, and hit the road, again. I finally made it to Portland and my friend and caught up with them a bit before collapsing, again. Finally, today I spent hangin' with them then saw Thor the Dark World with them. Now it's night and I'm not just ready to collapse. And that's what happened with me. My weekend was eventful.

So, anyway, what did I miss?

Dude, that's communism. Socialism is social ownership of the means of production. Communism is, depending on what communist you act, a classless, stateless, and moneyless society or, for the definition I prefer and was using, any human relationship based on the principle of "from each according to ability; to each according to need." Told to from on high is capitalism of some sort, state socialism of some sort, feudalism, or some other hierarchical economic system.
