The scene in Breaking Point (full of rape scenes with unsimulated sex) where the Villain Protagonist (a misogynistic serial rapist and killer) lures a little girl (played by an actual child) to a secluded area with a bag of candy, and creepily eats it with her.
this thread was started with the first one i thought of.
you say there was no green screen involved? dang.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.I'd add the scene in the first Mission Impossible too.
The hospital scene in World War Z. I figured they were going to be found at some point, but when?
Looking for some stories? For another from me, there's the killer very slowly shoving a pair of scissors into the pregnant Final Girl's stomach in Inside.
I watched Jurassic Park a while ago, and it dawned on me that every time I watch that movie, the scene that makes me the most uneasy is the Jeep slowly sliding out of the tree while Tim and Grant try to climb down before it crushes them. It's not the dinosaurs that get to me. It's that damn Jeep, every time.
Fear is a superpower.I found that bomb disposal scene from The English Patient pretty tense.
Am I a good man or a bad man?The Raid. The machete-through-the-wall scene.
The scene in Matilda where Matilda and Miss Honey are trying to escape the Trunchbull's house. I still find that scene really tense as an adult.

I think that one gave me nightmares for a while.
speaking of Mission: Impossible, if you watch the show the movie series is based on, you'll find that the franchise thrives on nail-biting moments.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. When I first saw Casino Royale in theaters, I was quite enthralled seeing this chase, particular 2:47 to 3:10 and 3:30 to 3:33.
About half of Gravity.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elsejust thought of another one: the Von Trapp family escaping from the Nazis in The Sound of Music.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.The final trench run in Star Wars. Once Vader and his henchmen fly down and the music starts getting faster and faster, it gets really tense. We've already seen Vader outmaneuver the best pilots the Alliance could throw at the Death Star, and now he's going after Luke. Han's intervention comes at just the right height of tension.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatOn the top of my mind...the scene from "The rescuers", when Penny is down in the cave and has to find the diamond. The big hole, the water which is slowly rising, the maelstrom in which she nearly drowns...it is just so unbelievable well done. Better than the actual climax of the movie.
Indeed. When I was a kid, I felt really tense and a bit scared.
I'd say the beginning of World War Z. As a severe asthmatic, that movie hit all the wrong nerves.
The scene in Sorcerer (the very overlooked American remake of The Wages Of Fear, check both films out if you want masterpieces of suspense) where the protagonists have to drive the trucks over an incredibly rickety old rope bridge during a torrential rainstorm. Did I mention that the protagonists have crates of highly volatile nitroglycerin in the back of the trucks that could explode at the slightest jolt?
The entire second half of the film is full of moments like these but this is the highlight and centerpiece of the whole thing.
You can get what you want and still not be very happy. For me,Brett's death in Alien is exactly this.

19,Autistic,Nerd.The lightbulb scene from Oculus:
I was like OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT the whole time
"If I reach for the stars, you can't hold me back"For some reason, the final moments of the chase in The Blues Brothers always puts me on edge.
The entire climax of Enders Game
Another random topic. What sequences in movies have left you on the edge of your seat?
I'll start with this awesome one:
Even better since that was done without green screen.
