Where does it say the only ork you get to do anything with is rat bag? Last I checked you still can use the power of the wraith t0 turn the other orks. Also from what I can find Ratbag is one of the story characters like the witch.

Yeah, I know, I'm knee-jerking to Worst Case Scenario.

I hope that he is just one character that gets seen. I'm sure we'll still have the whole Warband manipulation. It might be that he is the character that acts as the "tutorial" for it.

Just haven't seen much since the big trailers about the nemesis system and then we get the usual "character trailers".

Wow, re-reading that it does seem like I'm being MASSIVELY negative. Not my intent - more just hoping they stil have the wide ranging systems to manipulate.

I am thinking ratbag is more of a intro/guide type story character to show the player the ropes of the system. I was noticing that Talion is wielding a broken sword when he first meets him.

This could be amazing if they can pull it off. I want to do a playthrough where I don't kill anyone, I just do things to make them want revenge on me, so I'll have an army of 300 burned/armless/scarred orcs gunning for me.

Unless what they show off here is basically faked, the Nemesis system is indeed very dynamic and non-scripted. There's enough variation to make the bosses distinct and memorable.

I was skeptical of the game but if its fun I will make it like The Force Unleashed , the plot may make me roll my eyes but it'll be fun as hell.

Though I hear that the things going on aren't THAT out of place?

It's apparently some kind of alternate continuity (this is, along with The Third Age, BFME 2 and War in the North, one of the very few LOTR games that has an original story) so you can just chalk it up to that.

Long as I'm not fighting the Balrog with Gandalf I wont mind. GOD THAT WAS STUPID.

Though I also don't want us to be challenging Sauron himself and killing him. I mean, I guess that would be both stupid and cool at the same time...

Have they confirmed Nazgul enemies?

We won't fight the Nazgul. The Black Captains are the main boss opponents.

I will find the most lowly, weak mook and have him go from Nobody To Nightmare by having getting revenge on me his motivation. Every encounter I'll give him a new reason to hate me, but let him flee at the last moment, growing his power each time. Then, when he's at the height of his power, I'll kill him myself.

So we fight nothing but orcs? Thats a shame.

Orcs and other creatures watch the vid a couple posts above.

The trailers also show other non-sapient monsters like ogres and worgs and crap. (don't know if those are the real names, not a Lot R fan) Plus the orcs themselves are pretty varied looking. But I think it will be mostly orcs.

Yeah they do have a nice variety. I was just hoping for a little more is all. Oh well.

Well after watching the vids and reading the comments, I feel a bit silly for my naysaying. I just tend to expect the worst from the industry (After Westwood nixed Renegade and Breed got toned down massively, I'm leery)

It looks pretty good fun, interesting combat dynamics.

And I too will try to create a nemesis full of fears of fire, sharp objects, ponies and sunsets by humiliating them akin to a saturday morning cartoon villain. Provided my other half doesn't go into hospital prematurely, day 1 purchase!

I am looking at buying this myself in November. I really hope the enemy system still works as advertised.

We'll know once reviews start coming out on the 30th, when the PC version is released. I'll be waiting until the 8th of next month for the Australian PS 4 release, though, so I won't be able to post first impressions, but hopefully someone here who plays it on PC can post their experience.

I am not in line for it until the middle of next month.

I'm still doing everything that I can in Destiny, so I may not get this for a bit XD

I started caring more about this game when A) The Nemesis System appears to not be Molyneux style bullshit.

B) The combat ended up less AC and more Batman.

Just finished watching a few of those play through and interviews. One of the best part was the Keragor pride attacking one of the players and he was getting mauled by them so he runs and climbs a cliff nearby into a ork camp. The Keragor come charging after. A captain was there and got all raged up then got mauled to death by the Keragor pride in short order. Leading the monsters to the enemy camps seems to be a good strategy even if you don't take them over personally.

I thought it was rather clever how using the flies, fire, and monsters along with other fear inducing tactics could make an enemy afraid of those things.

You can also dominate the ceragor and other monsters and make your own little beast-army in addition to taking over captains and their men.

It doesn't look like they are actually part of your army though. You just brand them for the interim.

Reviews should start appearing sometime in the next day or so from what I've read. It's nice that they have enough confidence in the game to allow pre-release reviews, unlike a certain other recent AAA game. *Cough*Destiny*Cough*

Reviews are coming in and the game is apparently surprising the living hell out of everyone by being very good.
