Oh, I didn't realized that.

Now, we know that she holds a lot of power. But maybe the Academists sealed her powers within her to prevent others from using her or worse.

So... Is Harris perhaps realising that he may not have been the hero that he had thought? And looking at the Author's Note, I wonder who the aggressor was in that siege: the Orphic Witches or the Academic Mages? We can probably guess who won...

Near as I can tell these are neat little in universe snippets of whatever that explain things.

I like it

Likewise—there are some intriguing tidbits in that article. I note for instance that Orphics seem to live amongst the general populace, but are likely few and seem to be discriminated against; looking at the left-hand partial article, I wonder whether Orphic Magic can indeed contact the dead. I'm also interested to note that the technology observed in Kirkhall (aerials and the like) seems likely to be Academic-powered Magi Tech.

That fountain is loovelyyy. The spirits look very cool to my eye, if surprisingly human.

Maybe they're just people in spirit outfits.

Or maybe it's how they manifest themselves outside the forest
