The presence of JGSDF troops for SAR ops is winning over the typhoon survivors. Most of them said that they have no bad blood with them, which is good since the JSDF need some good overseas PR after their Iraqi deployments, although they've done some limited ones in Aceh a few years ago.

Recently, the New People's Army is also assisting in relief efforts. If only done to simply give the national government the finger for not doing a good job in SAR efforts.
