It's the conclusion to the story. If they do decide to continue the adaption, they'll almost certainly do Kasuza's True End, given that it best fits with the themes of the VN. They might or might not decide to cut out large parts of Closing Chapter, depending on the episode count they've got to work with.
@ High Velocity I'm fine with spoilers!
Three side heroines? Interesting. Also screw the Cheating Route.
I have the feeling that Kazusa's True End won't be so happy at all. Take note that, to even get to it, one has to pass through Setsuna's path, which kinds of assume that he's stayed for her for at least 3 years, and been physically intimate together with her too. I think dropping her like a hot potato just because you know who comes back would come off as... dickish. Will make for good drama, no question, but still.
Then again, one NEVER ever forgets their first.

Point of clarification: Setsuna's route in Closing Chapter involves Haruki getting back together with her. He's a dysfunctional mess of a human being for the years leading up to CC, and he does everything he can to drive Setsuna away at the start of the story. The other three girls have been described as "Looks like Kasuza", "Acts like Kasuza", and "The opposite of Setsuna".

well that should be interesting. is the writing still good during this mess?
The more I hear about the later parts of the story, the less I'm interested in seeing them.
I liked this story because it felt very true to teenage romance and all the dumb things teenagers do. The problem is that this trueness is a very time-limited thing. Teenagers making dumb-ass romantic decisions? I sigh, go "yeah, that happens, you poor bastards; I remember that" and empathize. But I'm much less interested in watching people do the same dumb-ass teenager romantic bullshit when they should be grown-ass adults. Part of growing up is getting over yourself and your petty heartbreak, because it really isn't that important. I don't think the authors agree.
I loved what we've seen so far, but I'm probably going to check out here.
If it's like that, why did they get together in first place?
@ Einander
I'd encourage you to give any later seasons a shot. My understanding is that the fundamental conflict in later chapters is less "teenage romantic angst" and more about the realization that it's impossible to please everybody. For what it's worth, the PS 3 and PSP versions of the game are subtitled "The other side of happiness".
@ Tenzen
Originally? Imperfect information. In Closing Chapter? My understanding is that it's because virtually all of his friends are on Setsuna's side and he mostly moves past his own anger and guilt. Also, imperfect information.

On a related note, does someone know (slash can someone spoil) what the deal was with Haruki's friends. It seems like they've got some interesting love stories of their own, but we didn't really get to see it all that much in the anime.
Just watched episode 11.
I swear, this guy must be aiming for a Nice Boat ending.
This show was a pleasant surprise. After getting burned by so many crappy VN adaptations, I've finally found an adaptation that can at least compete with Clannad's. Good stuff.
So without reading anything in this thread, I'm now at episode 8 with the Hot Springs. You know, I would have enjoyed this a lot more if they didn't have the obvious foreshadowing in episode 1 that makes it clear what's going to happen relationship-wise. Right now, I'm just upset at what's going to happen because I like the status quo. Still, I can't take my mind off of this series right now so I guess that's good?
Well this show certainly knows how to rip your heart out.
Now I want to read the VN. Why are translators translating stuff like Monster Girl Quest and not this?
Fuck this show. T_T. Can't say it reached Clannad levels of sad but damn, it was emotional and hit closer to home. Fuckfuckfuck, I want to read the VN. I also want to check out the first White Album. And I also want the tabs for all the songs in the show. Fuckfuckfuckfuckthis series, I want more.
I'd like more too!
(By the way, the first White Album was apparently mediocre. The anime certainly was)
Well this series still makes me want to try it out. Apparantly, according to VNTL, the VN is only 10.69% translated.
Finally got around to finishing this.
Haruki's an asshole.
I'd argue that Haruki's only human.
Haruki's not one. Yet. CC and Coda takes care of that though!
By the way, do Takeya and Io (whatever their names were) end up together? I get the feeling that they're a really good match.
I was quite amused that he was left out of the LMA trip to the hot springs. Character-relation wise, it was obvious but still.
My headcanon is that Takeya excused himself from the trip because he's such a bro.
Damnit, I want to play the Visual Novel....
I wonder if there's an all-ages version for the PC?
No, it's not that I'm being a prude or anything, just that the girls (especially Setsuna) are so nice I'll feel bad using them for titillation or stuff like that.
That sound like I don't wanna sequel...
