What is happening with Maestro? Your latest GM Post didn't address her. She's currently standing on a roof, waving to Gale and Blink, flying above her. Her piano is tired, so she can't walk to them.

@mrminun: What's for me to address? You're trying to have your character communicate with two of the other player characters (and you left the option open for them not to respond to you, which one of them already took). This ball is in their court, not mine.

Well, isn't it your job to prompt the players?

My job, as I see it, is to try to keep the story moving forward and the general tone consistent, enforce the set of rules I posted, and prevent cases of players ignoring or misreading other people's posts. As long as that's being done, that's as far as my "prompting" extends.

As I said, you yourself left the option open that they could not see your character, so I can hardly call them out on taking that option.

Also, keep in mind I just got back into town. Shortly after I made that post, I couldn't have "prompted" anyone even if I wanted to.

@Nman: Um, last I checked there's a wrecked car blocking the road more or less in front of your character. So, what kind of "closest situation" were you looking for again?

Something more immediately dangerous that the fire department wouldn't be better at doing that her. Can't exactly perform CPR with those claws

I will note that the fire department is not there, and that Ursa Major is. Besides, it's not like you actually had her look at the wreck to check for victims or damage.

I know you'd rather be fighting thugs, but there aren't enough thugs to go around. That doesn't mean I'm not going to give any of you something to do. The car wreck was supposed to be that for you, since you decided to ride a bus to a crime scene, which is impractical on many levels (and uncool to boot).

Just be glad I didn't enforce greater realism and have the bus driver cancel or alter his route to avoid the area with the rampaging bikers.

Making those sorts of assumptions tend to go nowhere. If I had wanted her to fight thugs first and foremost, I would have simply thrown her at the one that ran away from Revolver, or one of the other ones in the area. Right now I am trying to get a more accurate picture of the situation she would see the moment she steps off of the bus, since there were few details given. I haven't even reached the part where she's actually going to do something, since she would also send a bee around to scout the area while she does it if that were the case.

At the moment, I have no idea if the driver decided to drive right up to the wreck, or stopped hundreds of feet away due to a line of cars blocking up traffic. And I am more inclined to think the latter is the case, due to traveling slower than the other heroes. It is unlikely that she would spend time covering that distance if something else is happening nearby. That wreck in question was due to a collision with a power pole, so if there's a power outage because of that there could be tons of things going on - or there could be power lines that are dangling and potentially about to fall, which is something she would have to take care of. Additionally, Aidan disabled all the fuel injectors in a large radius a few posts earlier, so it's quite possible there could be other accidents nearby. I can't just ignore all of those factors.

So right now, I'm just waiting until your next post gives out more details on the situation. If it really is the case that the wrecked car is the closest thing to deal with, then she will decide to go inspect the car, but her path will be completely different depending on whether the street is relatively clear, littered with wreckage or debris, or if someone civilian nearby needs help because their Vespa suddenly stopped working and they got pinned. I can't really make decisions on what to do at the moment without making assumptions about the game world that I haven't been given.

I'll admit that I was vague mostly on purpose. Your character was in the back of the bus, which really limits how much they can see, especially in front of the bus. (I speak from first-hand experience, although in fairness I have never been a bear in the back of a bus.)

With that said, the phrasing of your original post made it seem to me like you were ignoring the car wreck altogether, and was the root of the issue. Your follow-up post here did not help alleviate this perception. If you wanted to say you were surveying things and weighing your options, you could have worded it better. As long as we understand each other, we're fine.

As a warning, though, this will not be the last time your (or any) character ends up in a situation where what they can observe is limited. This case was just one I had not particularly planned for in advance. The others? Well... <rubs hands together>

So, out of curiosity (and an irresistible urge to plug the things I like), does anyone else here read Worm? It's an awesome superhero web novel that I discovered shortly after World of Heroes v2 ended.

@KSPAM: Since Aidan Lee won't come out to play, I guess I'm making playtime come to him.

As for the rest of you, you kind of get turned loose for a little while. You can help the police clean up, go help Ursa Major clean up, look for clues to what the thugs were doing, or do something else (run it by me if you want to). I'll be phasing in the new supers during this part, and once they are established, I'll move things forward. (This will probably take place tomorrow in game time.)

Well, I intend to post something later today about the cleanup after the biker rampage for the new supers to come in and do. If you other guys (read: everyone but Ursa Major, Maestro, and Aidan) would rather team up on that than follow your own direction (I did drop some hints of what you could do), let me know.
