D'Onofrio is, according to IM Db, 6'3.5''. So pretty big although not quite the size of comic book Wilson Fisk who is 6'7". Michael Clarke Duncan, who played him in the movie was 6' 4.5"
Trump delenda estMost of Fisk's imposing physical structure is in his frame, not his height. He's not Slender Man large, he's Sumo large.
He's also an animated character, which means he can get away with more flexibility in his visual design. For a more down-to-earth Wilson Fisk, I would say Wrestler large is satisfactory. He should look like he can benchpress Dare Devil, but doesn't quite have to be "I can snap your neck by flexing too hard at it" huge. If he CAN be, that's a plus, but I wouldn't call it mandatory.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Personally, the only thing that matters to me is "presence". He could be five foot and 100 pounds as long as he comes across as the centre of the room, the guy everyone defers too, not just cos he's the Kingpin, but because that's who he is.
Realistically, there's probably very few tiny guys who can carry that off but it's all about intensity. Look at Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon. He's 5'7". An extra foot wouldn't have made him more badass.
Wilson Fisk's sumo look makes him distinctive but partially that's because presence doesn't really convey well in that medium
Another thing: Having a larger guy play the Kingpin helps visually convey his "superpower". And I put it in quotes cause he's not exactly superhuman, but he kinda is.
The Kingpin is 350lbs in the comics, but his body fat is 2%. For those of you that suck at math, that's 343lbs of muscle on that frame. He couldn't take the Hulk, but for Marvel's "street level" heroes, that's scary strong. I'm picturing D'Onofrio wrapping his hand around someone's wrist, saying "Tell me what the police know.....and you can keep this hand."
And he starts squeezing. And we hear metacarpals cracking.
Oh, now I really want that scene.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Kingpin is a character whose proportions you likely aren't gonna find naturally. If they wanted to do a comic accurate Kingpin that'd probably require lots of CGI or expensive prosthetics.
I mean look at him. [1]
Yeah, their best bet IRL is to find some way to dye Mark Henry white and shave his head.
D'Onofrio will do. Who's playing The Man Without Fear?
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117^ Clark from the DD movie showed that Fisk not being white isn't necessarily a drawback if the actor can hack it. (No idea on Mark Henry's acting chops, don't watch wrestling.)
As for Matt, he's being played by Charlie Cox from Boardwalk Empire and Stardust.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpI assume CEOIII means if you were determined to get a guy who looked as close as possible to the comic rather than an intelligent adaption.
- cough* Donofrio is about 6'4". Charlie Cox is 5'10". There is no need for elaborate prosthetics. Just stop using whatever tricks are typically used to exaggerate Cox's height.
Better yet, use them in every scene EXCEPT when he's face to face with Kingpin.
[EDIT] It occurs to me that that is exactly what you meant...

Actor's costumes can be padded, the only part of the actor that needs to be thick to allow a convincingly massive frame is his neck.
^ Though if the character is anything action-y, there's only so far you can go on bulky costuming without impairing movement. Robocop's somewhat jerky and mechanical motion was due to Weller's costume being difficult to move around in. (Not that it didn't serve as characterization, just that it wasn't originally by design.)
While it's hardly everyday that crime bosses get into Good Old Fisticuffs, in Kingpin's case being able to take direct action is one of his character traits, so it's something to at least keep in the back of your mind for a TV adaptation of DD.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpYa know John Rhys Davies did play the Kingpin once.
I remember that flick. Davies was a little old then to play Fisk.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117That film? Let us never speak of it again.
Trump delenda estAn OC I assume? Although she'd make a kick ass Elektra.
Trump delenda estShe might be Maya Lopez as well.
Karen Page ?
[EDIT] Typhoid Mary ?
How many women can there be in Matt Murdock's li.... oh, wait.

Daredevil's one-time girlfriend. She sold his secret identity to get a drug fix. Kingpin got it and ruined his life.
LATER: when Mysterio was trying to destroy Daredevil's life he forged a test result that said Page had HIV so she'd warn DD he might have it. And then Bullseye killed her.
And then she was dead.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI have read and reviewed an entire (short) book on Daredevil's love interests. http://www.skjam.com/2013/08/24/book-review-blind-dates-and-broken-hearts-the-tragic-loves-of-matthew-murdock/
Elektra feels more like she should show up as a romantic/superlife complication about halfway through the season.
One suggestion I would love if it were true was for her to play Jessica Jones on Daredevil and then spin off into her own series.

Sure, the guy playing Kingpin doesn't need to be 9'8", 842lbs, but at a minimum, the guy playing Kingpin should be bigger than the guy playing Daredevil.
