Hello again.

This is one of the two threads I'm creating based on ideas thrown around the "Looking for G Ms" thread. This thread is based around the idea of an RP where each player character starts out as a kid, and progressively grows old as the RP procceeds and timeskips happen- for example, the timeskip between Naruto and Naruto Shippuden.

In the RP, something unites all these kids, something special. Maybe they're superpowered, maybe they're genetic experiments by the government, whatever it is, they've got something in common. And as they grow up and relationships evolve, their actions will reflect on the fate of the world (or not, you never know).

My idea was that they were superpowered beings created by some shady corporation, which could lend itself to a Walking The World RP, or maybe one where they have to escape the evil corporation and who knows, maybe the corporation has a mole on the group?

That's just one of the ideas, and that's what this thread is for: a place where we can propose ideas for the RP, as long as they revolve around the mechanic of special kids growing up together as time passes.

Let's get thinking!

Okay, just thinking about this RP fills me with warm and fuzzy feelings about growing up.

I like the idea that they were created by someone to be superpowered soldiers or something. We could say they were being given "normal" lives before being brought back to the big bad HQ to be trained, and that's when they team up and escape.

Like that comic book about the teenagers finding out their dads are supervillains... forgot the name.

[up]Runaways, I think?

Anyways, uh, yeah, like I said I think this is a really fun idea. And I'd be all over the runaway super soldiers thing, so, uh... Yeah.[lol]

[up][up] Runaways?

I like that idea, the way they come together. Maybe they try to go back to their families, but once they see the corporation is waiting for them, they realize they have to stick together and find a way to expose the truth about the corporation so they can get back to their families.

Of course, if they succeed or not, that all depends... I suggested the idea that maybe one of the kids could end up working for the corporation. You know, they can offer him/her something his/her family wants... what do you guys think?

And perhaps, the one offered the job will go against the runaways?

Damn, that's... interesting. I'd like to contribute!

The idea of one of them basically selling out the others and becoming a villain is pretty intriguing, yes... I like this idea and I only wish it wasn't so late so I could contribute in a more meaningful way right now.[lol]

I'm kinda thinking that since the kids will be 7-10, this first part will have a Naruto (the part before they grew up, that's one that I kinda like)/Avatar feeling, with them walking from place to place, developing their relationship and dealing with the world around them.

You know, if we have them going from city to city, we could easily have a player GM a particular city or something like that, if he has a good idea.

Kind of makes me think of Earthbound, but with timeskips.

So is this RP strictly gonna be an OC only deal, or can pre-existing characters be fit into it?

Um, not really sure how you'd make a pre-existing character fit into the story...kinda feels less meaningful that way too, at least to me.

but eh, G Ms choice I guess

[up][up] By pre-existing character, do you mean a canon character or an OC you created for another RP?

Otherwise, OCs only.

Alright, time to figure out what's our backstory!... so, anyone has any ideas of what our secret agency's plan is and why do they want superpowered soldiers? I have some, I'll post 'em tomorrow.

I meant canon characters. I ask mainly because there are RP's out there with canon characters being placed into another continuity as alternate versions.

But okay then, OC's only.

Just checking in!

Also, backstory wise, I think maybe a "Support Group for Superpowered Kids" Scenario could be a good start. And then It turns out they're actually trying to get these kids to trust them.

Well, clearly this secret agency's agenda has to be, and really there's no other choice when they want super powered soldiers, but clearly they must want to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!*

>.> <.<

But yeah, having them secretly be some evil organization hellbent on world domination seems like the most likely explanation to me, but yeah.[lol]

You know, if these superpowered kids are so important, how did they get out of the organization's hand in the first place? Before they teamed up.

Maybe one particular kid proves too powerful and/or unstable to handle, and the problems he/she creates for the organization creates a momentary distraction allowing the others to escape. Just an idea.

Anyways, if I can come up with a good OC, I definitely have interest for this RP.

Semi-interested; I'm going to have to think this over a bit before I decide one way or the other, if that's okay.

As for the reason why the agency*

wants the superpowered soldiers, a few ideas also occur to me.

1. As Moerin says, TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD! One of the easiest rationales, but it also strikes me as a bit simplistic.

2. A trump card of some sort. Presumably no-one else has the capability to create these superpowered beings, so it gives a major advantage to whoever has it. If they were a company (particularly one dealing in the defence industry), they might also want to sell off contracts or similar.

3. Proof-of-concept for something else. For example, the kids might be a proof-of-concept for doing the same to fully grown adults.

Also, what sort of abilities are we looking at here? I know it's early days, but I like to cut down on ambiguity.

Hey, sometimes the simple ideas are the best.[lol] But yeah, hmmm... Could actually see a mix of those ideas working together, honestly. But we'll see.

...And I'm already brainstorming character ideas, it seems. Even if it's just simple concepts like either a Cool Big Sis type character, or possibly the villainous one that joins The Company rather than stick with their friends. But again, we'll see how things work out.

I've got a good idea for a character too.
