@kiukiuclk

Why does Asagi need to survive in action? She's been doing just fine as Mission Control or The Smart Guy up till now.

[up] Well, there is a limit to what she can do in those roles considering what everyone else is. Yukina even pointed it out in the last episode. She's in a lot of danger just being nearby when something happens. And Kojou only eeems to have army-scale attacks.

Basically, I think she's kinda approaching the limits of what can do with her as a character without powering her up a little. Also, she's the only one you can turn into a vaguely credibly romantic rival to Himeragi, because she knew Kouju before.

Episode 20:

  • Kojou's so generous.tongue
  • Natsuki's back and snark-trollin' to go.tongue
  • Thank you for saving Kou's life, boss who's going to get back-stabbed and killed minutes later.
  • Kojou won't drink other girls' blood. You're worrying too much, Yukina. Maaaaybe unless it's an emergency...tongue
  • Kojou: "Obnoxious cat."tongue
  • Ha ha! After the whole Natsuki dying ordeal, I won't believe that Asagi bit it. Maybe she'll be resurrected with a power up... Still...her priorities need some work.
  • But if she is done... The only thing that will probably go through Kojou's mind is "Heads will roll!" Hmm...that would be...bad...

[up][up]You can also see it from different perspective. Asagi is ONLY ONE who can do mission control and smart guy. There is plenty of combatants, you can put on or two on bus without problems, in worst case scenario even Valter would do...

...but if something happen to Asagi, whole island will sunk in metter of hours.evil grin

Natsu-chan can fill at least part of that role. And the odd character here and there. Though no one would be as good overall at it as Asagi.

I very much doubt Asagi going to get any powers. The group needs at least one muggle to get into trouble so they can bail her out.

[up][up][up] It's not like making her less squishy would impact her ability to play those rules. It just would give her something to do when the arn't needed. Also, I sorta doubt a freelance teenage hacker is critical to the island.

Twenty episodes of Strike The Blood imply otherwise. Asagi on her side did at least as much (if not more) as all others characters altogether.

Let's be honest, ONLY reason why is Asagi still kept out of loop is that if she didn't every problem would be solved smoothly and anticlimaticaly.

[up][up]Asagi narrative purpose is to be the squishy muggle girl that can be used whenever the plot needs to put a girl in danger. This way the author can keep Yukina and Sayaka consistently competent and avoid turning the into faux action girls.

Giving Asagi powers would seriously undermine that.

Because the girls who've been put in danger and needed saving previously have all been squishy muggles.

[up][up] I doubt she'd get powers to match Himeragi or Sayaka. Just enough so she won't automatically die if she's around when stuff happens. And so Kojou has an excuse to bite her, since biting muggles doesn't do anything. ;)

Heck, Yukina and Natsu have been the "girls in danger", so I don't think there is much problem in that regard.

She put good fight with that criminal didn't she? She has whole city on her side, that's almost equal of super power on it's own.

I feel like bringing up that's it's been implied that Asagi's hacking skills are magical, so she does have some powers. Just not combat powers.

Episode 21. In which you subtract one, and add one.

"Wait, forget I said that." Modesty is not a priority, but it's there.

And for that other girl, modesty isn't even in the dictionary at all.

So, possession/shared body that healed her up?

It really should take him at most a few seconds to figure out something's up. Well, then again, I don't think he's at his best mental capacity at the moment...

I like Nina. She's reasonable. Which is a bit of a theme in this series, comparatively... And her way of talking is neat.

Yuki geeks out about the strangest things. It's not a bad quality to have.

Translation: She wanted something to happen, but she wanted to be aware while it happened.

Does shooting at a blob ever work, unless you have special ammunition, used when all else fails?

If it's anti-climactic, it's not climactic.

Random fanservice crap.

Yeah, it's impossible that nothing will actually happen on the trip.

Well of course she isn't dead. Like that was going to happen.

It was a clone but I like how easily Kou clone got punked

Yeah, I like Nina too. I hope she sticks around for longer.

It's really nice of Kojou to not want to worry Yukina before her trip, but it will quickly come to bite him in the ass.

While we are at it... Yukina's spear could resolve their problem really quickly, so of course she had to leave it at the base. Not that will stop her from kicking ass.

I wonder who might want Kanon death so badly?

Next episode should be kick ass.

[up]I think it could've happened. Just not this way. Asagi basically got a bridge dropped on her, and that's just not a way to kill off a character who's had more development concerning how she related to Kojou, rather than how Kojou relates to her. I mean, it's not Lost we're watching. If Kojou's view of her were more developed, she could've been stuffed in the fridge to give him something to angst about, but it's not how the situation is.

By the way, I wonder how much she remembers. I mean, she didn't seem to remember getting hurt at all. But for being covered in her own blood (though she wouldn't have known that), she was relatively unshaken. Even if she forgot that some things aren't that appropriate to show for a second there. Which, again, was funny.

Yeah, I meant right now. If you asked me which major character has the biggest chance to kick the bucket, I would say Asagi. Not great chance mind you but just the biggest.

Maybe Nina is manipulating her memories?

Hmm. What do we think of the idea of Nina sticking around after this arc? Like, what if from now on, Asagi starts turning into Nina when she's got her back against the wall?

I'd rather prefer if Nina stayed full time.

Then what happens to Asagi? It's one thing to hate a character, but it's another to completely erase one from writing.

Same as usual.... Wing it.

Uh no, I mean like, didn't she said that she's only occupying Asagi until she get Wiseman's blood back? She will have her own body then.

If she stays I'd suspect her to have a smaller role like Asta or La Princess. Then again that would also require a new season. Which I'm not entirely opposed to.

I can see Nina leaving one of those fake cores with Asagi. Heck, I can see her coming back to Itogami at times for sheer entertainment value.

Other interesting I noticed was Asagi didn't create Mogwai, she just worked with him. (Maybe she just fed him after midnight or something). He seems to be some sort of local island god or something.

@Duck: The first time they shot at the blob, it was justified because they were just luring it in. The second time though...maybe they were just panicking?

But yeah, dumbest move ever.
