I never asked for it, but I'm not complaining, either. More Deus Ex is always a good thing.

Oh my god, yes! More Deus Ex games? Gimme a hell yeah! But is Deus Ex: Universe the title of the next Deus Ex game or not?

[up]Don't know if its the Title of the next game but it will be the Artifact Title for the Expanded Universe which is starting with the next game.

I am wary of this.

Reading the details, it seems like a marketing campaign first and a continuation of the story second. The number of buzzwords in that introduction is alarming. "Transmedia storytelling" is gimmicky even in the best of cases, and this feels like an attempt throw a wider net for cashing in. I am also concerned how it's going to fit in to the timeline.

[up] All this really means is more spinoffs in addition to new games.

Also HR Dirctors cut coming out this month. Think this was already mentioned but eh.

Sounds like a name for an MMO.

I saw a post or article somewhere about how Deus Ex: Universe seems like it'll be a Mass Effect-style of game. By that, I mean that it seems that there will be multiple games, along with various sidestory mobile and tablet games, with novels and comic books about a single overarching storyline. But that's just speculation, so who knows.

Eidos Montreal unveils new engine to be used for Deus Ex Universe projects

They say it's "based on a heavily modified version" of the Glacier 2 engine, which was apparently used for Hitman Absolution. That sounds just fine to me, since I thought Absolution was top-notch both visually and mechanically.
