I think with that view there can be no unarguable (or objective) things at all.
Yeah, sometimes people can get to argue about when the first publication was (especially if it was in a non-mainstream or underground form), but at least it can still be documented reasonably objectively. And arguing about a year here or there on this scale isn't that interesting anyway.
I don't even think it really matters, because the "cult" part is completely unquantifiable.
I favor making it an exampleless Fan Speak page.
Anyway, also casting my vote for the Fan Speak thing (though that should be obvious, since I first suggested it ).
Maybe we should make and hook a crowner now, whaddaya say?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.20 years is actually a good cutoff because it is widely agreed that a work doesn't become a classic until the 7304th day after its release.

Rhymes with "Protracted."I totally could agree with removing all examples, as so may if them (in film at least) are actually huge mainstream hits, nothing cultish about them. Just sustaining a fan base over years does not a cult classic make. That just makes it a classic. As such, any examples are far to much of a magnet for misaimed listings. Ditch em, I say.

Since it seems to be the general consensus: use hatchet -> examples.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Someone readded the cut examples. I'll lock the article to preserve the No Examples status.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I suppose this thread has fulfilled its purpose completely, then.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300
I don't think that's really objective, because picking an exact date is going to cause arguments.
