@Tobias: I don't exactly understand that mentality {Especially since ignoring canon stuff you don't like means that stupid crap like the S4 Finale and everything about the Cutie Map never happened}, but then again I'm the kind of person who adores Fanon Discontinuity and uses it a ton to the point that someday I'll do my own fic that ignores 95% of the stuff after a certain point in Season 3.

Watching the episodes early has never stopped me from recounting my opinion of it when we start talking about it here.

Yes, it was. I'm saying that the same episode that introduced it also sank it with their insistence that they were just friends at all times that they weren't being affected by love poison.

See, that's silly. That's like saying "A Canterlot Wedding" sank Shining Armor/Cadance by establishing they weren't married prior to their wedding. Relationships do not spring fully-formed from Zeus's knee. They develop over time.

On Cheerimac. There was shipteasing after the love potion wore off. Now, that doesn't actually prove that Big Mac had a crush on her, but it's evidence. Now, Applebloom might be right, but the episode clearly points out that she has no idea what she's taking about when discussing Big Mac's love life.

And yes, I'm sorry that a post-of-the-day quoting me put people in an unpleasant mood. The post is random, and yes, it's a subject I am extremely passionate about for several reasons, so while I'm sorry about the bad mood it put peope in, I do not apologise for the contents, nor do I apologise for my anger at people ignoring someone's misdeeds because they find the person hot and get off on the idea f them getting with someone they continually abused and victimised. I certainly don't like the implication that people are allowed to hurt me as long as they are attractive and have a sad backstory.

Except CW established from the beginning that Shining and Cadance were in love, reasserted the fact after the real Cadance appeared, and ended with them actually getting married, while H&HD established from the beginning that Cheerilee and Mac were just friends, reasserted the fact after the poison wore off, and ended with them trolling the CMC by pretending to still be affected by the poison.

Yes, but in that trolling, they went out together. Was it a completely platonic thing, or did they decide to explore romantic possibilities now that the idea had been presented to them? At the time, both interpretations were valid. .And since then, Cheerilee has been presented as being attracted to Big Mac, most infamously in Fille Vannilli (though, admittedly, maybe she was attracted to Flutterguy)

Plot twist: She was actually swooning at Torch Song.

Okay, I just google searched "torch song" expecting to hit the MLP wiki, but instead I find something kind of sad.

The grand total of their continued interactions after H&HD as I recall were being seen walking together with a picnic basket in a background, and the Filli Vanilli scene. While both can certainly be interpreted romantically, they can both equally well fit into the "just friends" explanation that they gave in H&HD.

The Filli Vanilli example would be more strictly romantically implied if it had only been her fainting, but the fact that she opens one eye and smirks afterward could also imply that she's joking.

Sure, it doesn't have to be interpreted romantically, but a romantic interpretation is not automatically a sign of lunacy.

Speaking of the seasons, there's a random confession I think I should get off my chest. ^_^;;

To tell the truth, I feel kind of inadequate. Like I said, I made my mom a fan of the show. It's just that she hasn't seen any of it past the very first episode. On the other hand, her Internet connection in that part of the Ozarks can be a bit patchy. When it works, it really does, but I wouldn't recommend playing World of Warcraft on it.

@Demetrios: Would buying DVDs of the show be an option, if your mom wanted to see more episodes but couldn't watch them online? (I'm assuming this is referring to MLP)

I just rebeat Cave Story since the Switch version came out and I forgot how much I loved the game.

Bloodstained Sanctuary is always satisfying to get through, if incredibly frustrating. I made it to Ballos four times, and had his final form to just a sliver of health before dying at one point!
