If someone really wanted to shake up the zombie thing without changing the whole invasion angle, then they should change the setting. Just throwing an idea out there, but how about taking a page from Diablo and having a demon invasion of a city of angels? You don't even need to bring in humans or zombies at all and you'd still get a similar aesthetic.
This song needs more love.Only a hundred pages until we get the next one!
Which... may take a while, depending on the topics. And the hiatus length.
110 pages, actually. Which will take a while, considering that we've been averaging 4 pages a day for the last week, and even that's probably optimistic.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThat... kind of rounds out to just four weeks, so that's less than I thought. With a more realistic estimate it's probably gonna be around eight.
So, what you are saying is we should be flooding this thread with posts to get to the next palindrome faster? :p
Zombies: I love zombies in fantasy stuff. They are what make graveyards so interesting. You can always expect to run into a good fifty zombies or mummies and probably a vampire or two when the questmaster tells you to raid the nearest ancient tomb.
Wizards: "I cast gate with the other end inside the sun."
The funny part is, that exact spell can and has been used for worse than just opening a gate to the sun. Like the guy who destroyed an entire elemental plane (force) because the Big Bad that was powered by its element annoyed him.
How? The gate lead to the exact place where the planes of Void and Negative Energy met, which caused enough of a planar shitstorm that every single person that needed that plane got permanently depowered. But hey, it worked!

No, we should be flooding the thread with posts so that it goes fast enough that Pannic doesn't notice in time and posts angrily on the page afterwards like he used to.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayExactly. Go at whatever pace you want, but when a palindrome page gets close, spam like crazy.
inb4 we get into a heated argument around the plaindrome page, so we miss celebrating it
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeI miss mudkipz.
Okay, I finished my chapter. 1048 words IIRC. Thanks Storyyeller. I had to think a bit to decide how best to proceed. This story is going to be crazy.
Post of the Day #1503
Hey Ging, since you're big on villains and we're on SFII, what do you think of M. Bison? Or Akuma?
That's the idea.

Wait, wasn't it darkabomination's turn? Oh well, nice to see the story is proceeding.
I can't wait to see what you came up with to follow my chapter.
Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayThe reason that so many apocalypse stories go with horrible people going at each other is because flawed human beings interacting in extreme circumstances is more engaging than people just fighting against hordes of mindless monsters.
Ah, that was faster than I expected. Now I play ketchup.
^^Exactly. You can still have the zombies be a threat, but you gotta have some human antagonists too if the story is going to be particularly long.
I haven't watched the tv show version of The Walking Dead because I found the pilot boring, but I read volume 1 of the comics and played season 1 of the video games, and they were excellent.
Need to finish season 2 of the video game... played the first three episodes but haven't continued. I've heard it's not as strong as season 1. And season 1 was excellent. It was bleak, but also powerfully moving.
The precedent for all this got set in Night of the Living Dead, really. You had these people stuck in a house surrounded by zombies, all of them disagreeing about what the best course of action was. What risks were worth taking, what prices were worth paying, all of them under enough pressure to make anyone crack.

Well, today I bit the bullet and ordered a stainless-steel club to beat up bread dough with.
The bread had it coming.
I'm glad to see you share my feelings.
^^^^Volume's 2 and 3 of the comic are out now, and as a whole all 3 volumes combined cover the first 144 issues of the comic. And yeah, as a longtime zombie fan I think you hit the mark with Night Of The Living Dead.

Oh, when I said "volume 1" I meant the trade paperback of issues 1-9. So I haven't read much. I should look into it sometime. Maybe after I finish The Sandman... which I should do. Just got one volume left...
@CDRW: I'm no baker, but... wouldn't just about any random object work for that?
