Emulators have a speed up button, which is amazing.
Yeah,my goal in practically every main Pokemon game is to try and catch em all.So X is the closest I've gotten to that goal only because of trading and taking Pokemon from my previous games.

My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013That's the main reason I fell out of caring about Pokemon games. The "Gotta catch em all"
Specifically the fact that due to the freaking insane amount of "event Pokemon" that you simply could not catch in the games making that impossible.
Event Pokemon will always be my biggest complaint about Pokemon.Esp. since you can't fucking trade them,so people asking for them on GTS can just clog it up with spam asking for them.
Thanks Nintendo for giving us the rare, awesome Pokemon that are only out for a limited time and can't be given to anyone else.-__-Fucking a.
And of course, than you have stupid shit like the useless piece of crap Spiky eared Pichu that can't evolve and is an utterly crap Pokemon.Even design wise its lazy because all it is is a Pichu that has pointy bits on its ears. The one time the Pokemon games have a unique, not shiny Pokemon and all we get is slightly different looking Pichu. The shiny Pichu doesn't really help that much, either.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013I've never gotten into collecting all the pokemon. I've always been content with just filling out the squad and completing the storyline.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Oh, hey, is this the pokemon thread again?
I like collecting mons.I also used to like going semi-competitive. I must have hatched thousands of eggs for the sake of perfect I Vs, abilities and moves, many of which would then be put up for trades.
Good times, good times. I really dislike the format used in random online match-ups, though. Three mons is just not enough for an exciting match between two teams. Full party or GTFO.

The main reason for that is the developers still thinking about Japan first, the international market second. Trading works great for sales since there's a very dense population in cities, so trading's much easier there. Of course, it screws over everyone else unless they have good wifi and someone willing to trade, and that's assuming they will at all.
It's always the Pokemon thread here in the pony thread. Why, haven't you noticed?
This is just a consequence of new Pony not being out till Spring.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectPonified pokemon romhack, go!
Seriously, does this exist?
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Hey, if you wanna be the best, you gotta put in the work.
I just really enjoyed the strategic aspect of Pokemon. It's great fun coming up with new tricks, and breeding/training the right mons for it only enhances the fun through anticipation.
The story/exploration part is fine too, but it just doesn't challenge me as much as I'd like, at least not without all kinds of rather arbitrary self-imposed rules.
I think there was such a project, yes. No clue if they ever actually finished, or if the resulting game is any good.

I actually tried to play competitively in Pokemon Y once... it... didn't end well.
boop I'm more active on hereI have a pseudo-competitive bent, but am otherwise content to goof off ingame :V
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Don't really give a fuck about any competitive games, just care about the single player stuff.
One of the things that turned me off World Of Warcraft.... of the many, was how hard they were trying to push everyone into PVP. And just how often the PVP things ended up screwing over PVE.

@Scott: My biggest gripes are that, and the fact that by now there is no excuse not to have multiple save files.
But yeah, even for me it's less "catch them all" and more "catch as many as is reasonably possible". I just like building fun teams. Don't bother being competitive.
Reaction Image RepositoryThinking about finishing Psychonauts today.I've only been putting it off because I really don't wanna play Meat Circus.Esp. since I have the PS 2 version which is a bit buggy and not as well done as the steam version.

My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013Post of the Day #933
@JT: I caught them all earlier this year :V
I just need to have a Diancie and a Meloetta (and Hoopa and Volcanion) of my own to truly have Caught Them All.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! The pony thread is also a gaming thread occasionally. Man, my Smash Bros copy is coming in Monday.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectMine probably Friday. Shame I got this gaming burn-out.
I'm not sure exactly when mine is coming in. I ordered it via Toys R Us instead of Amazon as usual because I could get a free Amiibo with it. I was cheap and went for the free economy shipping, meaning I might not get it for another week or so.
Reaction Image RepositoryI frequently consider playing competitive pokemon, but never do so. And I almost never play Pokemon without doing a Nuzlocke anymore.

I'd only try a Nuzlocke on an emulator. On the actual games, I have too much of a tendency to try to catch everything.
