[up] As usual, backstory will come up and make him change his mind. In a near future episode, naturally.

Watching Nicktoons network now. Shoutmon and Rob Dyrdek are battling for supremacy for a new episode. Can someone say "wut?"

New Digimon episode is on due to Shoutmon winning the votes. Meltdown in the magma zone has so much feel and meme potential, I wish I knew how to make one of Cutemon asking for his parents.

I'm very much liking this Anime Dub so far. I might be mistaken, but is that Ken's voice actor from Season 2 being re-used? Sounds like him.

Also, I finished watching the latest episode. Meramon got renamed to RedMeramon, possibly because BlueMeramon is there. Helps tell them apart? Not like the renames haven't been odd for a while. This one feels justified enough to help the viewers tell them apart. It's nowhere near as bad as Laylamon or SlushAngemon, at least.

So Episode 8 refers to the bad guy as "AncientVolcanomon", when the previous episode referred to him simply as "Volcanomon". So much for consistency, I guess.

That's not entirely incorrect. Since they can digivolve into each other. It could be just a simple nickname instead. What was the context of that statement? Master Volcanomon?(that seems like a title to me if that's what was said, not specifying which exact Digimon it was, but since there's one Volcanomon in the entire series, the name isn't that big of a deal)

Really, the fact that Greymon has an entirely different design while keeping the same name is far more jarring to me. It's not like Agumon in Savers. He looks the same minus putting on what is essentially gloves. He's otherwise identical. Even GeoGreymon looks really similar to regular Greymon.

However, to be fair, an X-Antibody Digimon is not actually called an X-Antibody in any adaption, treating them as the overall same Digimon, despite the redesign. But they're still at least kind of different Digimon. I still think the new Greymon should get his own name instead, like Geo did.

Ken and a bunch of other characters across the franchise, yes.

There's a nametag subtitle when mons are introduced in this series. The same two episodes called a certain ice Digimon Yukidarumon before returning to its actual localized name, Frigimon.

Ah. Yep, basic inconsistent then.

I watched the earlier episode, but I forget if they said the name RedMeramon or simply show it as the name. I feel the name change is justified so people don't confuse the Blue and Red versions of Meramon, really. It wasn't necessary, but it makes enough sense to do so.

Not to mention Agumon is spelled "Augumon" for some reason.

In which season? If it was Data Squad, he is a different version of Agumon(I think he had the same moves, but he has unique Digivolution lines from the original), so it's somewhat justified.

I'm talking about the latest episode of Fusion. I don't think this is an intentional difference. I think they just didn't bother to try to keep it consistent with the other series.

You can try to rationalize it with "oh, it's a different continuity", but the truth is they probably just didn't bother to check the correct spelling. I mean, "Triple Bird Flame", jeez.

Huh. Well, there's a ton of names. Mistakes like this aren't too unusual.

But Agumon is THE Digimon. No other Rookie Digimon is as famous as he.

Damn, just when I forgot about that. Pretty sure it's another one of those instances where it's Bandai's fault, but pretty sure the Agu trio show up once so it's not a huge deal.

Which trio exactly? Is it 3 Agumons? I know later on we'd have Agumon(Savers) and Agumon(Adventure). Also, related, Snowagumon and Blackagumon have Savers designs as well where they have the gloves.

They're not really "digimon", per se, but rather the ghostly memories of the "Legendary Digimon" that fought to protect the Fusion Digital World in the past. Still, it's quite jarring.

[up][up] They didnt in Digimon World 1...

[up] You're talking about an entirely separate set of characters. Agumon(Savers) and Agumon(Adventure) are completely different outside of their moveset. Same with Blackagumon(Sabers) and Blackagumon(regular), likewise with both versions of Snowagumon. They aren't the "same" guy.

It's a severe case of Names The Same here. A good example is Link from WW is an entirely different Link from TP. But they are both specifically called Link in canon. There is no "Toon" Link in a single Zelda game. That's a pure Smash Bros. thing, as well as nickname for some.

[up][up] Well, they technically are Digimon showing up. Just as a neat cameo. Also the first Leviamon Anime appearance. And of course he's shown as a good guy entirely. Beezlemon at least didn't start that way, likewise with the rest of the Seven Demon Lords. They all were evil in the Anime(at one time at least) except one.

The Hell? This is where it went? Why don't they tell me these things!?[lol]

Anywho, Dub of "Dorulumon's true colors" aired. I really thought the Terminator "We'll be back" ref was pretty forced in. And I really felt feels when Bluemagmamon died.sad I really feel the partnership with Digimon will help Nick compete with CN in a HUGE way, that is, if Saban Brands wants/decides to make more episodes or seasons(Not including this since all episodes are accounted for, and will ever be made.)

[down]But I made this specifically for the western dub, which we all know can get pretty fucked when graphic content is involved. Yes, I know it's an "Eastern-made" animation, but that doesn't prevent french made productions from going on Western animation.

Where else would an Anime Discussion go? I requested the move some time ago. It even got mentioned this was an Anime early in the topic.

Also, please spoiler stuff like that. I haven't seen the episode yet. >_< Wait, it's not BlueMeramon like he was introduced in the earlier episode? Gah.

You look happy, I can change that if you want.

This is made in Japan first. It's an Anime, not a French Animation. That's how we determine it. It never belonged in Western Animation.

Western Animation only applies to French Animation if they were made there first. Western Dubs of Animes are still an Anime for the purpose of this website. A dub of a Japanese Anime = Anime still.

[up] I was confused by him being spelled as Bluemagmamon a bit ago.
