So, when will this game be out?

It's finished already, so sometime in April/May/June, I think.

Also, for those who care, Ray is both female and dark skinned. One of my friends was pretty stoked about that.

I think that's neat.

Yeah, that's awesome. It's something we need more of truthfully.

Not that this is a bad thing in any sense, but I think it's important to keep in mind that to the Japanese, dark skinned usually just reads as "tanned" and isn't meant to represent any sort of race.

So what exactly is the status of the Dina controversy at this point? Has it basically blown over, or are there "party unity my ass" holdouts, or did it get subsumed into a certain larger flamewar?

Pretty much died down with the most vocal doing a exodus/getting banned from the forums. Then it started up again during "Thou Shalt Not Be Named"-gate before dying down again.

I am unsurprised with the timing of the resurgance.

But anyway, a male character having a female rival is somewhat uncommon, isn't it?

found some concept art of Ray. the right arm looks a bit different than the left arm.

I can't think of many works where they had a legit rivalry without the "Why don't you just bang" subtext.

I think the pokemons that let you play as a girl had whichever character you didn't choose be your rival. But apparenty the bang aspect was sorta still there even in a friendly rivalry so...

And the fandom will make them bang anyway...

Oh. B-but they wouldn't go that far in this Beck-and-Ray rivalry... I mean, pairing a childish robot to a breaking down and cannibalistic robot? Banging?? Whaaaaat? (Well, we don't know about Ray personality yet so...)

A person can only dream, but it's bound to happen sooner or later anyway.

Interestingly, the assymetrical arms were on almost all of the preliminary concept designs. So I imagine that was something that was decided on early on in her conceptualization.

Apparently despite the lack of updates on the counter. Ray is doing well towards being funded.

Now I can rest *slightly* easy because Comcept didn't say anything about what will happen if Ray didn't reach the goal. Don't want a interesting character gone to waste.

My guess would have been "shelved for sequel".

Countershade's stage is released. Like Brandish, he will be attacking Beck throughout his stage. Unlike Brandish, that also means the stage decorations and traps will be out to get you too. Yes, literally EVERYTHING. Also one of Countershade's attacks is ricocheting his shots off of the fourth wall.

But one thing I paid attention is that the MN 9 article said something about 'difficulty evaluation'. Remember how people said everything looks so easy even though it's a beta? Mmmhhhmmmm.

I hope Countershade and Brandish (and Ray, if they get in) boss fights are BIG difficulty spikes.
