So I was looking at some stuff on the Kickstarter page and I noticed that if they get 2.5 million they'll make a version for the PS 3, 360, and Wii U. I hope that milestone is reached since I don't really use Steam. It looks like we'll also get a New Game Plus and stages for Mighty No 7 and 8 if they get enough funding.
regarding legal controversies, it reminds me of what happened with Superman, Wonder Man, and Captain Marvel.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I welcome Mighty 9 as the unofficial brother-in-arms of Rock et al.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! This looks interesting. I just might back this.
That's kinda like saying that Call Of Duty is virtually identical to Battle Field.... In this day an age, you can't really copyright the technical gaming elements involved in a game's development. Look at how many adventure games where you kill enemies by jumping on their heads were created because of Mario.

Were they created by disgruntled former employees that are responsible for shaping the series it's ripping off?
It would be like if Miyamoto was fired and he made a platformer about an Italian in white named Martino. It's clear what he'd be doing.

@Brelston 1m
And somehow Mighty No 9, which I think looks cool, had led to more hate directed at me. Wheee!
:(
The Protomen enhanced my life.Perhaps so, but then again, Capcom can't really take any legal action over the development of this game unless they are also currently developing a game that plays just like it. If they were developing a side scroller Mega Man game, then they could probably legally put a halt to this game's own development due to the similarities.
Personally, similarities or not, I do kinda like the return to old form, combined with new ideas.
Though, I also really like Mega Man 9.
I have a message from another time...I like 10 more than 9 cause it was easier and had a better story XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.I actually haven't goten to playing 10 yet.
I have a message from another time...Keep in mind that most of the US and most of Europe hasn't woken up to this project yet. If you think this thing is going quickly, just wait till the rest of the world gets wind of this.
Stuff like this is impossible to ignore, which makes me stressed because I really WANT to ignore it. Everywhere on this site, Deviantart, and tons of Mega Man sites, this news has exploded. I've seen fanart of Beck being included in Mega Man clubs already!
I think what bothers me most is that this has NOTHING to do with Mega Man besides the creative team, but Mega Man fans everywhere are treating it like Legends 3.

The Protomen enhanced my life. For me, Inafune is just using everything he already has, all the ideas and mechanics made by both himself, his coworkers and the fans that just didn't get accepted by Capcom.
He's not a hero for taking back what's his, he's just a role model of someone who manages to get to do what he wants in an industry where what you do is often what higher ups want.
many people are treating it like Legends 3 because the fight to bring it back wasn't just about the game itself, but of so much time and effort(all for free, at that) that was wasted by a big corporation. It became more than just about Legends 3, but the easiest way to remember it is through Legends 3.

That's a pretty good way to put it.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justicecan't help but thinking that some of the people are probably funding it just to say "See Capcom?that money could have been given to you instead of them if you actually did something!FUCK YOU,CAPCOM!" I mean,it's pretty easy to hate Capcom for something nowadays, especially when it comes to Megaman.
I just really want to see fan art of Beck and Rock meeting each other right now.
my drawing blog ya'll UPDATES 10 TIMES A MONTH WOW, THIS IS STRAIGHT UP MUH SOGGY KNEEIt'll come up in no time.
From Gamespot itself, there's already a fuss generated. Can somebody enlighten me how this kickstart exactly works? (as in, how much different from a donation itself?)
Wait...What?Kickstarter is a public funding website where, instead of petitioning a publisher for the money to create and/or distribute a game (or anything else, it doesn't have to be a game), they appeal to the customer base for some or all of the necessary funding. People who want to back kickstarter projects can pledge any amount starting at a dollar and going as high as their wallet will allow. Many kickstarter projects offer additional incentives for backers in the form of rewards for certain pledge amounts.
Pledges are essentially donations, but you can get rewards for your pledge.

Wait...What?
Actually, I really like Beck as-is. I wouldn't really change much at all.
