Dashing into enemies ALL THE TIME sounds like it'd really wear on the buttons.

I feel like a trailer saying "Look how awesome our dashing is!" isn't doing the game any favors.

I mean, how many sidescrollers have dashing/sliding?

I checked out Deep Silver's other MN 9 trailers. They got progressively worse, or at least progressively worse-received.

My favorite trailer is the "Vernon" one. Makes cheesy jokes and you know it's all in good fun and references those old commercials advertising ways.

The crying Anime fan at prom night line is....yeeesh.

Don't support crowdfunding for games.

Not all crowdfunds end up being like this.

Hyper Light Drifter took a while to come out but did eventually come out and was awesome.

What happened to the cool-looking cartoon-animation design that the original promotional media had? I much preferred that look versus what they have now, it looked so much cleaner and higher-quality too.

@Beatman 1: More like don't support crowdfunding games if you are averse to risks. There's a lot of good crowdfunded games, don't generalize the whole thing just because there's rotten apples.

I think Beck's chibi proportions◊ and small overall size◊ keep throwing me off.

He almost looked even MORE like Mega Man.

That was fast.

I just wanted to have fun, goddamn.

Not to get mobbed by a army with pitchforks and torches just because the leader trusted someone and said someone betrayed the followers behind the leader.

The moral is, only support crowdfunded games that have a working prototype and not just a named developer and a promise.

FTL, SUPERHOT, Divinity: Original Sin, Hyper Light Drifter, Pillars of Eternity, Valdis Story, Armello, just to name a tiny number of successes.

Call's gameplay looks fun.

@Raddishes: Nah, you can still enjoy it if you think it's a fun game. No one is bagging on you here for it. This is all just kind of fascinating in the way a train wreck is fascinating.

So, I used to say this game needed to be the most awesome thing ever to save itself.

I no longer think that matters.

I imagine the game will still play quite well, but I'm positive no amount of good gameplay in the world will save it from collapsing upon itself like a black hole.

Inafune pissed away all his good will, and it will be a miracle if he gets it back.

Lets be fair. There was also a non zero number of people who wanted it to fail since the beginning and have taken any opportunity to shit on it.

Inafune has contributed a number of bad decisions

Its created a gumbo of failure.

But damn I still love the character designs in this game.
