Asgard, a massive lab in the middle of the Atlantic, made from the remains of an Oil Rig, it had since become one of the last hopes of mankind, and as such everyone was busily dashing around trying to do something, repair a jet, monitor Ascended Activity, Except for three forms waiting in front of the Helipad. The First, was a tall, broad-shouldered Native American dressed in Military Garb, his hair in a ponytail. The Second was a tall spindly man with red glasses, straw hair and a well worn Labcoat. In front of him was a Hawaiian woman sitting in a wheel chair, her face had once been beautiful, but much of it was covered in hideous burned scars and she wore a black blindfold. They all watched as the Force Field around the base shuttered and stopped, letting a large black Helicopter in as it landed. then the doors opened.

"Hail Aesir! How fares life in the realm of Odin? This einherjar Gabriel salutes you!" The voice boomed from within the chopper, obviously mocking in tone. Gabriel Lowe, nicknamed Diehard at some point of his long career, stepped out of the helicopter with his right arm twisted into a parody of a salute. "Honestly, what is the obsession with norse mythology for naming conventions? I'm surprised our units aren't called einherjars themselves. Speaking of, I hope your people have taken good care of Junkpile while I was gone on my little trip."

Typically laid-back and uncaring for authority or rank, by this point it was well known that not even a stay in an off-base hospital for (in this particular case) shattered ribs, severe lacerations and multiple concussions could dampen Gabriel's good spirits. He just took it as a paid vacation. "I'm getting too old for this shit, so do tell me that Junkpile's been outfitted with the long range bombardment setup. Please?"

The Native American looked at the straw haired man, who stared at Diehard, he spoke with a heavy german accent.

"Your Titan has not be upgraded or even touched."

Gabriel shrugged "Welp, no skin off my nose, but no guns no Gabriel. Vacation's nice and all but I'm not heading out with a melee configuration again, seeing I'm in no hurry to die. Swords are fun and all but we made guns for a reason, don't you all agree? Anyway, how's life been my dearest authority figures? I haven't been conscious much of late."

Awakened by Lowe's boisterous greetings, rather than the engines of the transport or even their landing, Luella stirred quickly as only one that has spent years in the military can. Quickly patting her chest, her hands quickly and deftly undid the safety harness that kept her in her seat. Wearing a jacket, tanktop, and heavy cargo pants, she briefly stretched before walking heavily towards the exit ramp. Boots on the helipad, she briefly glanced towards Loke and the scientist as she approached, before facing and saluting the general. Displaying her disfigured right hand in the process. Speaking quickly, she gave a terse acknowledgement of the man and his rank "General Blackcorn."

Hans looked at Gabriel. "Vell, My apologies! Maybe you should, I don't know, request zis kind of stuff ahead of time? M-" Loke shook her head.

"Hans, you're freaking out again."

Ignoring the commotion, Marston smiled warmly and saluted her back. "Ms. Castillo, it's a pleasure to have you here."

Not being quite so able to put up with their nonsense, she spared a brief glance towards the eccentrics before refocusing on the General. Lowering her salute, and relaxing slightly "It's a pleasure to be back at it, sir. I'm not cut out for downtime. I'm looking forward to serving under your command." Despite not looking happy in any sort of conventional manner, she actually was glad to be back in service.

"Huh...I thought I did? Might've been a fever dream." Gabriel scratched his chin, honestly confused by the mixup. "I even have plans drawn out. I think I do. I'm pretty sure anyway, they should be in my room here. Unless I dreamed about doing those as well, but I don't think so, I came up with this thing before getting stomped. It was a lot of gun and armor. I think you two'll like it."

"Yeah, It's always great to have a veteran back, especially after what happened in Hawaii." He shook his head, gesturing at the trio. "I'm sure you remember Loke, right?"

Hans looked at the Pilot over his glasses lesnes. "You are aware zat neither zis Frauline or I are Mechanics? Vell, of zat type." He looked at him. "However, do you have ze plans? I vould like to see zem."

Tensing briefly at the mention of the pilot "Aye, sir" before nodding to Loke. Pausing as she realized her mistake, she sputtered briefly as she tried to correct the situation "I-I mean, Yes- It's good to s-see-...Hello, Ms. Kinipela." Briefly resisting the urge to facepalm, she briefly lapsed into silence.

Loke turned to where she heard the name and waved. "Is that Luella?" She wheeled over, Marston walked over, and wheeled her over so she was with him and Luella, she looked up at him. "You're back from the Leave already?"

If anything she seemed to become more awkward, as she watched the General bring over the fellow pilot "Yes, well...it was mandatory leave, and the mandatory part is over..." Unsure where to go from there, without bringing up subjects she would rather not mention in public. Or that would draw attention to Loke's injuries and their consequences. "So, yes. Back...You seem to be doing well?"

"Y'know Loke, you should consider getting a pair of these sometime" Gabriel lowered his sunglasses, tapping his metallic eyes with his left index finger, also mechanical, making a distinctive clinking sound. Everyone knew the man's eyes had long been replaced with prosthetics. "They're wierd, but not as bad as they seem. I'm sure we could find you a nice color if we look around for it. Anyway I'll catch you later, got some plans that need doing. General"

With that and a slight nod, Gabriel moved towards the base, letting the former team-mates have their moment and dragging the doctor along with him. "Yeah doc, I'm pretty sure they're somewhere in my room. You're a former pilot yourself, I think you'll like the concept even if it's not your preferred form of engagement. A variety of firearms meant to handle as many situations as possible, many of them built into the frame, coupled with a larger, more heavily armored build to increase damage tolerance."

Loke shrugged, "Good Enough." at Gabriel's suggestion, she turned. "I've never been much for mechanics." Hans shrugged before Gabriel grabbed him and dragged the doctor away, Marston nodded. "Come on, let's go inside. Hans can get Gabriel squared away, I'm sure." Marston took Loke Luella and the other Pilots.

Hans struggled to catch up, breaking free of Gabriel and pulling an energy drink out before chugging it. "So...Vhat you van, is a long ranged, heavily armored, cannon for lack of a better term?" He shrugged, "Vell, it could be rather effective. Personally, I vas more for ze whole getting up close, but zen Reise got destroyed and my new mech is not fitted for ze combat vork."

Watching as Gabriel left, she returned her attention back to the wheelchair bound pilot. "Maybe he doesn't. He could be an idiot, for all we know...also the Doctor just shrugged." she deadpanned, she gave a brief "Aye, sir." to the General, before falling in with them as they made their way indoors. Seeming to consider her words as she fell in beside Loke "...he was suggesting that you get a set of prosthetic eyes."

"Oh, I'm aware of that. I just never really liked Mechanical and Cybernetic Implants." She shrugged. "Besides, I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself, the wheel chair's just because I recently had surgery on my leg."

Nodding, before again realizing that Loke wouldn't be able to see it "I don't find them terribly appealing myself. I was worried, I suppose, about the wheelchair, though. I didn't recall hearing that your-...injuries would have called for it. I'm glad it's not a permanent addition." Again, despite her efforts, neither her posture or tone really broadcasted "Glad". But at least she was making the attempt.

"Unfortunate for Titan. I had heard that you wouldn't be piloting anymore. I take it you didn't want any of us to feel too embarrassed, when you still managed to run circles around anyone else in a giant-robot?" Luella almost made it sound like the question was entirely serious.

Loke laughed, "I wasn't that good." She sighed,a tinge of sadness touched her face. "I failed. Hawaii's gone, Alice is gone...I was going to propose after that mission. But I failed." She was silent for a moment, clearly in some very unhappy memories. Marston looked at Luella, trying to make conversation. "Loke's now one of the trainers, Along with Hans. You probably don't know him."

Almost bewildered, by how quickly she had managed to drive down Loke's mood, she was again at a loss for words "I-I mean-..." she trailed off, as well, not really sure how to handle this. That would teach her for trying to make someone smile. Slipping into silence, before the General got her attention "I-...No, I don't believe I've met the man before now." Pausing briefly "Loke can probably do a lot of good there, though."

"She is one of our best trainers." He spoke only to Luella, "Though, she's been depressed after the Hawaii Mission, it's not your fault. She does this sometimes." He sighed, continue to push the quietly sobbing Loke.

Hans looked through the window at the Titan, then at the list of weaponry. "Mein Gott. Are you trying to invade vhere the Ascended are from and declare a Democracy or something? I mean, Scheiße!" He looked at the List, "I imagine zis could take a about a veek or two...Honestly, vhy did Marston hire an unfinished Titan?"

The sea parted partly, spreading out small whiteheads as the massive white mecha flew just over the surface of the water. Form within its metal body blared 'Closer to the Heart' by Rush as it's mouthed the words along with it.

The Blacksmith and the Artist'

Reflect it in their art

Forge their creativity

Closer to the heart

On the horizon the Asgard appeared, like a massive grew rock jutting out of the ocean. Captaij Johnathan Cabot couldn't help but draw parallels to the city of Atlantis.

"Let's hope the allusion stops there."

Gunnery Sergeant James Burns saluted his few friends and coworkers who had come to see him off. The rest of his four man squad, Sergeants Jack Krueger and Ezekiel Jones, and Gunnery Sergeant George Gdolkin would remain on the new West coast for now, but they were a distress signal away from coming to his aid. They piloted what a few of what remained of the Marine Corps titan assets, and were needed to help defend the United States. With a heavy heart, the titan was lifted by helicopters and deposited offshore, Iron Burns was out in the ocean once more, headed for a new base called Asgard. He just hoped he wouldn't be going to Valhalla anytime soon.

Gabriel laughed at Hans' reaction to his intended loadout, but feigned offense at his last comment. "Unfinished my ass, replace the damaged bits, give it a working weapon and Junkpile could sortie right the hell now. It's as tough a Titan as they come, 20 years of getting in deep shit with the Ascended and living to fight another day. It's been rebuilt, refurbished and updated more times than I care to admit and I'm hoping this build will be final, sans refinements of course."

He lowered his shades once more, looking dead at the doctor's eyes with his own somewhat unsettling implants "I'm past 40 and tired of getting into hand to hand scraps with monsters, it hasn't exactly led to good health, you see? From now on Gabriel Lowe is blowing crap up from a nice, safe distance."
