Those books didn't even warrant one adaptation, let alone a remake.
Seriously, if you're going to adapt Christian fiction there's much better stuff out there.

I'm optimistic. It seems that (and this is just rumours floating around) that they're focusing on it more as a disaster movie rather than whatever the other movies were. Also, the original authors hate this adaption already.
