So, likely inspired by the ratings success of the Kevin Costner starring miniseries, as well as a couple documentaies, a show focusing on the two families getting together to market moonshine is made.
Though a lot of the fighting seems contrived, like when Mickey Mc Coy fights a Hatfield over him trying to steal the corn he bought up (hard to believe that one man can buy up all the corn stock of 3 separate stores withun a few hours), right after being tackled, the Hatfield calls a timeout for a drink, they share it, and decide it's a good idea to gobinto business with Marsel (The Bacardi executive)
Plus granny Hatfield sniping at a bobcat outside the range of her revolver seemed far-fetched (even pausing what the camera zoomed at, i saw no bobcat or anything) and the revolver seemed unloaded when on the dinner table (end-on, nothing could be seen in the cylinder)
So, I'd say the show is more real than Amish Mafia (which is faker than Professional Wrestling!), but things are stretched quite a bit.

A fun watch though.
