Why NOT swap our plasma cannon for our plasma mortar?

No, I just meant that I didn't see it on our weapons sheet and I was wondering if something happened to it.

Speaking of which, I didn't see a result for our research action for upgraded Railguns or building the Project Eraser Rigging.

I think the weapon sheet only gives the stats on what we currently have equipped.

Alright, so its coming in from the direction that no longer has a railgun. So, all the shooting is gonna be done by Ronin's mortars. Part of me says its unlikely, that it has ten range on its probable acid spray attack but yeah testing it with the drones first is a good idea.

Alright, I'm gonna take Rik's plan and modify it a bit.

Plan Let's go Fly A Kite 2: Kite Harder

• Horizon Brave is to be hooked up to carryalls and held suspended over the Shatterdome ready for quick deployment if another kaiju or threat shows up, or if Ronin needs help.
• All remaining ninja drones are to fly out to harass Slorga with their autocannons, remaining as spread out as possible to minimize number of squad losses if counter attacks do happen.
• Ronin is to be dropped 1500m ahead of Slorga while the drone's probe its capabilities.
  • Its revolvers are to both be loaded with fire, with two of the reloads also being reloaded with fire, and the third one with acid, just in case there is a stealth kaiju on the loose. This gives us 36 fire shots and 12 acid shots.
  • Ronin will also bring the Ugly stick along just in case.
• Ronin is to prepare an action to fire both mortars if Slorga closes to 1000m.
• If Slorga gets that near Ronin is to then move back 300m after firing with both mortars.
• If possible, use our knowledge of stealth technology to see if we can modify the scanners to make sure nothing else is coming. As long as said impromptu modifications don't shut down normal scanning function. Otherwise just run a second sweep.
• Tanks and Jeeps are to be deployed in Tokyo proper while boats are to be deployed near Kamakura railgun.

I always figured that kind of thing was one of the major points of having them. You know, disposable units with which the poke the enemy with a stick before we send in the big guns.

In my defense, it's been a ways in RL time since we fought on our home turf. So yeah, totally forgot about the railguns.

Not related to the current battle, but everyone remembers Mt. Fuji right? Anyone think we can maybe talk the crew of Horizon Brave into sticking around long enough to go smash an alien base to bits?

Agreed, but I think we should a drone with a flashligh to Hong Kong and see if they can send more backup for that venture.

They sound like they've got plenty problems of their own, thankyouverymuch.

I don't know if we'll be ready before they need to get on their way, but it does definitely sound like something we might be able to call Hong Kong about when we ARE ready and see if they might be able to spare a Jaeger long enough to launch an offensive operation and do some actual damage that doesn't involve just keeping them at bay.

If they were able to spare a Jaeger for a scout mission, I'm sure it shouldn't be too much to ask if one or two can back up Wild Ronin for a mission if it means actually getting to go on the offensive for once, provided we're not going in blind and are actually ready to undertake such a mission.

We probably shouldn't hold off on Fuji much longer. But yeah. Oh, we should ask Shirow if our upgraded scanners revealed anything more about Fuji since it was them that revealed it in the first place.

Also, maybe send Horizon Brave back with all the blue prints on the new weapons we've developed? Along with brand new cryo katars. As a both a good will gesture and due to the fact we want humanity to win. So making sure everyone has as big of an advantage as possible is a good thing.

Cyro katars? Any shatterdome with a decent lab can make cyro katars. We give them something special. They go back with the Ugly Spikes as proof of their tales of those psycho Japanese bastards going into battle swinging a graffitied kaiju bone.

I say we send them schematics, especially for our drones and our railguns (especially if we actually got an upgraded model last turn that was simply overlooked).

I'll repeat here what I posted in the main thread:

I'm thinking of setting up a 'Crimson Typhoon: Kaiju Slaying Whirlwind!' thread.

It'd be done in a similar style to the various 'Jaeger Vs The World/Destroy All Kaiju' threads, but would streamline the whole thing (no resource management, though there would still be 'down time choices', and less complex combat) and would instead take place during the pre-movie Kaiju war, focusing on the Hong Kong shatterdome (Crimson Typhoon having been recently built, as well as the veteran Chinese Jaegers Horizon Brave and Shaolin Rogue) back when awesome Jaegers weren't dying left and right.

But then you'd have to either justify Kaiju appearing on a weekly basis, or else have the game take place over a really long period of time.

Eh, the attacks can be spaced out more, but they'll still be pretty frequent. I'm thinking it'll start off fairly easy (once every couple of months), and gradually gets more intense, first at the point where Gipsy Danger gets crunched by Knifehead, then later after the EMP hits in 2026.

There's also the fact that during the pre-movie Kaiju war, conventional forces didn't really get involved once the Jaegers were used, which should make things harder.

...Call me when the stuff is built, I have Kaiju designs in mind...

Also, I would rather not give Horizon Brave lycan's claws. Turning the corpses of kaiju into weapons, shall be Japan's thing only. Also, Brave had nothing to do with killing Lycan. It did help with Errant though. So maybe give it a dragon skull cap for its trip home?

Whoa, whoa, what is this factionalism? We are all one people, and should not be denying each other weapons out of some nationalistic selfishness.

A dragon-skull cap is an acceptable gift, though.

We're not denying them technological weapons, but if they want to fashion weapons from kaiju corpses they can do it themselves.

Also, I want to keep those claws for future blade wielding jaeger of ours. Whenever we get around to building it.

Also, like I said, Lycan was all Japan's work. Errant was both Japan's and China's work, so China can get some of that. And if a ninja kaiju shows up and Brave kills it, and it has something fun to turn into a weapon it can have that as well. But its gotta earn it.

And yes, some part of me want's to keep it so Japan is the only nation that uses the corpses of kaiju to kill other kaiju. Is that so wrong?
