What I like best about Uncle Grandpa is it's truly random, it doesn't just look random. Many cartoons try playing the nonsense angle but still end up being predictable in their delivery, while with UG, I rarely can see the punchline coming up until it hits me in the nose and then another Uncle Grandpa pops out the back of my head and it goes flying around the world until it lands into another colony of Uncles Grandpas in the Moon. That is what makes it truly hilarious.
I watched it, not as horrible as i expeted but it tries too hard
This "new era" they talk about is a load of shit. The age where pirates dream is over!? THE DREAMS OF MEN NEVER END! AM I RIGHT? -Big BadThe hate I see for this show is really a big reminder that, at the end of the day, most of the CN shows are still intended for young kids.
And Uncle Grandpa is actually one of their top-rated shows among the target demographic.
It's hilarious to see grown adults raging about a show being "stupid" like they think Cartoon Network should be catering to their tastes. It may have adult fans in mind sometimes, but some people need a reality check.
bogleech.com for my writing, comics and cartoons.True, but everyone besides kids feels it's best for kids to aim high - and so should entertainment aimed at them.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Still, we have edutainment crap like Paw Patrol, and no one bats an eye at how little it teaches and it still rakes in the money.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justicescythemantis, thank you. Thank you so much. Finally, someone gets it. The hate these shows get I guarantee you are from late teens/20-year-olds who were expected to stop watching cartoons years ago, and therefore, are not the people creators make cartoons for. Yes, there are exceptions like Regular Show, which is made for an older audience, and Gravity Falls, which is made to be something everyone can enjoy, rather than just kids, and Adventure Time which seems to tap-dance on the line between Lighter and Softer and Darker and Edgier, but shows like Teen Titans Go, they are not made for you. They are made for your little brother or maybe even your little sister, and as far as I'm aware, they aren't complaining, which is really all the networks care about.

It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.who were expected to stop watching cartoons years ago
Aaaaaaand here's the root to our problem, in that we still are in the Animation Age Ghetto phase, even after freaking decades of efforts. The problem is not there are wacky cartoons for kids, but that the networks still tend to assume all (no-Simpsons-Family Guy) animation they churn out must cater to that demographic, and when a creator slips a show that aims higher in terms of age up, it starts being sabotaged from the inside. I love UG and AT, and TTG is okay when the characters aren't being massive jerks (you can aim for that audience without making your characters petty and nasty), but the problem is CN takes them as a whole overall template to follow instead of just parts of a varied and balanced offering.
Yeah, the Animation Age Ghetto sucks, but until a solution arises that everyone partakes in, that's just the way it is.
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference. The CN Upfront revealed that there's gonna be a Steven Universe special that crosses over with Uncle Grandpa!
If this episode wins me over, I'll definitely watch Uncle Grandpa and binge watch it.
Though this crossover makes me feel nostalgic for the old crossovers.
And even if this crossover likely does well, everyone will still hate this show, just because it doesn't cater to their tastes - too bad Steven Universe is becoming quite overrated, IHMO, where I'm really beginning to remind myself of why I actually do care about this show (despite my issues with it...).
Y'all probably call it bad taste; I call it respect.
New Web Browser, same old Shokew. They have barely anything to DO with one another. They don't even share the same tone or humor.
That's what makes it interesting.
Garnet will freak the fuck out because she couldn't predict this was going to happen, and doesn't foresee that she, Mr. Gus, and Pearl are so serious when weird stuff happens, that they form a special bond that borders on shipping territory. Amethyst will spend most of her time tracking down Pizza Steve so she can eat him, except in reality Pizza Steve is actually Steven in UG's dimension!!! meaning she'll kill the real one if he's eaten.
"We be we baby!"They'll have to swap Steve for a Fish Stew pizza with a face on it.

Haha. This is great. I can't wait to see this and the anger on Tumblr
Supports cartoons being cartoony!I didn't know people still used "overrated." I thought everyone agreed like ten years ago that it's such a meaningless weasel-word that it's only to be used sardonically.
bogleech.com for my writing, comics and cartoons. No, since thank God mankind is not anyone's Hive Mind, no term has ever been universally agreed on. Shocking, I know, but true.
You know....I like both shows in my honest opinion and...I'm not really bothered by the idea.
The concept reminds me of one of the Billy and Mandy/KND crossover from years ago. It was two shows with different humor, styles and tones and (YMMV) hilariously blended together with nothing but sheer hilarity of how these two shows reacted to each other.
To me, this feels the same... I'm not worried because I don't think this'll damage either show; it's a fun little project between the crews of SU and UG who wanted to make this one-off crossover for laughs.
And really, if you don't take it too seriously, it COULD be a little fun to watch. XD
Steven breaks the fourth wall with UG in the end short. Even better, he does a story about a mini-crossover with Garnet's universe and Weirdman! The we all trip balls over how ridiculously funny it would be.
"We be we baby!"No one did. That's what makes it so funny!
"We be we baby!"
Even though I watch it, those are easily the worst aspects of Breadwinners.
Don't forget Teen Titans Go.
