Fortaleza, Feurach

Fortaleza was in bloom today. It was five days until the Harvest festival, amd although the day-long festival was still nearly a week away, preparations were already underway outside the majestic castle that marked the region's capital, dancers practicing daring stunts, priests already blessing Arceus and it's younger apprentices for blessing them with a plentiful bounty, enough to survive wih even despite Feurach's recent attacks.

Two who stood outside the castle's gates were the only ones who seemed to be paying no attention to the preparations at all, instead admiring the newly-erected statue, even if it remained under a cover for now. The older of the two was a man in some kind of simple cloth robes, a man who had a full white beard despite a complete lack of hair on the top of his head. His faithful companion, a Liepard was sat at his side, aloof as ever. He turned to face the other and spoke to him.

"They say it's a tribute to Aquas. Their intervention is what saved this whole nation from being burnt to the ground."

The younger man slowly nodded. His origin of Avios would be clear to any who set eyes on him - he wore armor that was lined in many parts with feathers - four Rainbow feathers on the helmet tucked beneath his arm and the quarterstaff in his spare hand. Like the man who stood with him, he too was flanked by pokémon, except this warrior had far more - bringing with him a Staraptor, a Scyther and a Blaziken.

"We'll find out soon. I think they'll be unveiling it at Harvest. Feurach is a beautiful kingdom, it would be a shame if it were destroyed. I would come here more often for jobs, but... they don't trust Avians here. It's the ninjas' fault really. Although, we will probably be back in time for the Harvest festival - maybe you could stay, Claudius?"

To this, Claudius shook his head. "No, Tsubasa - at my age, I simply thank the gods and be on my way."

"Well, maybe the new Legend Hunters we're going to be following can stay for Harvest then." Tsubasa allowed himself a smile. "They should be meeting us here soon."

"I hear they may include a great commander, from my own nation. If it is who I believe it is anyway." Claudius paused. "But if one of them is also from Ivenco... that could give us problems, we all remem-"

The experienced Hunter cut off the Britannian "If there are issues with the new team, it is my place to concern it, not yours. Now quiet. We still await their arrival and we cannot begin to worry before they even arrive.”

Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.

As "Lord Constantine" turned away from the serving girl he'd been conversing with, his warm smile faded to an amused look of fatigue, as a parent might have when set upon by several children asking for money to buy sticky buns. Fatigued, because concealing his disinterest towards her affairs was no easy task, and he had to remind himself repeatedly to keep his smile from becoming bland. Amused because such ventures were one of his few rebellions against his grandmother and her machinations, and while the activity itself might bore him, what the action represented was thoroughly enjoyable.

He didn't disagree with the plans that had been set, for the planning would work out rather splendidly for him. No, he wished for the plans to work as much as she did, but on some level, he resented that it wasn't his choice to go through with them. He held no particular interest in the girl, but though he didn't exceptionally fancy her, he did, in an admittedly childish fashion, desire the option, at least.

As he took his leave, he heard the tell-tale vibrations of his companion, Merodach, falling into step behind him and to his right. A small growl indicated his displeasure.

"I only gave her a small piece of meat," he said, glancing over his shoulder. His large companion seemed unmoved from his vexation. "I can't give you treats like I give her. You'd devour an entire Tauros, given a chance."

Merodach huffed once, but seemed to take the point.

"We've dallied long enough, in any case. Now then..." he said, releasing his second companion from her pocket dimension. Shaking her golden fur, Peleus looked up at him, blinking quizzically.

Kneeling down to pet her, he smiled. "See about finding those we need to meet. It's about time."

"Pix," she barked happily, before bolting off.

It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve.

Kyuden Eisenhart, a Hunter from Ivenco walked up the road to Fortaleza. Though his outfit was hardly standard to the nation's fashion. Rather than full plate, he wore padded leather and mail with strategic metal plates. His chest plate was fairly basic (and in need of a polish), with an etching of a Skarmory and lightning on it. At his hip was a straight, thin sword.

Even his appearance was unusual for his homeland. With bright yellow-blond hair, and cheerful demeanour he didn't fit most people's idea of an Ivencan. Though he certainly had their steely eyes.

The boyish looking man was humming to himself, and trailing a Rotom on a wire of sparking copper. He'd meant to get to Fortaleza a week before the festival, but the trip had taken a couple days longer than planned. Cutting through Soren may have been a bit stupid.

"Hey, Beirt. Looks like there's a welcoming committee."

"Tom, tom, tom," Beirt wanted off this leash. A new town, new people to prank!

Kyuden raised his spare hand to shield his eyes and get a better look. Those might be feathers, and those were definitely the flying types mentioned in his briefing. So he waved as he approached.

The brief notion of running the last couple hundred metres crossed his mind, but he ignored it. What was the rush? Plus, he'd wanted to get here early so he could have a bath before meeting his new Captain. Looks like he wouldn't get that chance.

Kyuden's musings had filled the space between him and his destination. So he found himself in front of the Avian and an old man.

"Hunter Tsubasa?" he queried, falling into a loose parade rest. He gave a simple bow. Hunters tended towards the less formal, but he'd worked with an stickler for protocol, old sergeant before. He'd give a salute but Beirtant's tugging on its tether would make that difficult. "Kyuden Eisenhart, reporting in."

A kangaskhan was making her way down the road, with a tuft of red visible from behind its head. A young woman with droopy eyes was hanging off of her back, getting a tepiggyback ride. On her face was an expression of utter disinterest, forged in the fires of monotony and tempered in liquid tedium.

"I'm so boooooooooored. Are we there yet?" Jill said to the pokemon under her. "Is this the place? Where's the place? Is that the place?"

"Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan..." Sheila groaned out in disapproval as they approached the statue, but ultimately nodded. She pointed up ahead at those who were already gathered.

"Oh, hey look, people! Hello people!" she waved at the people. Hopping up onto the kangaskhan's shoulders, her eyes were now wide open as she kept waving while they continued to draw near.

Hitomi walked, half-wishing that she could just ride Capoeira in, though she figured she might panic people if she rode in on a Gyarados. Besides, the earth wasn't exactly her pokémon's favoured environment. Well, even if her feet ached, she had arrived at her destination, so she supposed it hardly mattered. They seemed to be getting ready for something... Idly, Hitomi wondered what it was that they were working so hard to achieve - Some sort of festival, probably. That was the only thing she could think of.

She smiled, so passers by might stop looking at her oddly (though not smiling may not have been her issue), although she had no happy emotion behind it: This reminded her of her old home, before she was cursed with her awful burns. Ah, well, there was little point moping over it, she supposed. She was going to find a pokemon of legend, which would surely have the ability to cure her. The only thing was, would it have the will?

If it didn't, Hitomi was confident that she could force the thing to - After all, she had a Gyarados, didn't she? Her pokemon had to at least be vaguely a match for the legendary's power. The burnt girl hoped so, anyway - If not, she didn't know what she was going to do...

Glace Dupont was making his way through the road of Fertaluza along with his companion Frost. The man certainly looked like he was from Yasui in every way but clothing, he was pale as snow. Fitting for a man of Yasui, his hair as black as night, his eyes colored in mahogany, in striking contrast with his snow-white skin. His hair looked messy, spikes falling everywhere. But his chin and face were mostly clean, showing that he carefully groomed his face.

He wasn't clothed in their usual fur garb meant for the cold, as he knew he was going to be somewhere far hotter, so he prepared for this journey a leather jerkin, far more suited for other places in Senjo.

They were making their way to the statue were they were supposed to meet the other Legend Hunters. The Weavile looked at the 4 people near the statue, She striked a thinking pose. But Glace already went to grab Frost's red feathers and looked at her, his face dripping with the expression that oozed sarcasm; he gave a long sigh, and said:"You really think I was going to let you do that?" He chuckled, smiling slightly before petting Frost.

"That is not good for first impressions. So please don't do it. Honestly though, next time, try to be less –he paused for a second, thinking of the word most suited for this situation- noticeable." He chuckled again.

"Well, I think it's time we met our new company isn't it? I would've said I prefer to work alone, but honestly, against legendaries? No. So, you'd have to deal with them. And don't steal from them. We're not what we used to be anymore, ever since the old man took us. This should be our thanks to him for all he did for us." He said as he put Frost to the ground gently.

Glace and Frost walked closer to the statue, finally arriving near his new companions. A man dressed in feathers, an Avian huh? He thought to himself. You don't see these often. And he brought a mighty group with him too . A Steraptor a Scyther, and… A Blaziken? Well. That is certainly a surprise for me, haven't seen one of these in my life before.

He looked around more, noticing the blonde teenager with the eyes of steel, he looked so idealistic, so bright. He looked young; he looked like he was no less than 15 years old. There are going to be kids going with us? Great, just great. He thought.

An old man with a mighty beard, was he the one who organized this? It seems like it, He obviously is far too old to do something like this, he probably won't go with us.

And a redheaded woman with weird attire on the back of a Kangaskahn, she seemed more like the lumberjacks of this land. In Yasui anyone dressed like that is wishing for an agonizing and painful death.

He went straight to the old man. He bowed and said:"Glace Dupont, reporting in."

Probably-Tsubasa was looking over Kyuden's shoulder, at what looked like a couple more Hunters. They tended to stick out in an undefinable way.

The girl standing on her Kangaskhan's shoulders definitely stood out. Well, he hadn't been called on his crappy stance, so Kyuden turned around. And waved back.

"Hi! Here to Hunt some Legends?"

The (likely) Yasuite's - what with the snow skin and Weavile - eyes passed over Kyuden fairly dismissively. He let it slide, he was used to it. He knew between his young face and cheerfulness he seemed childish. He didn't care. He liked himself this way.

Tacitus' boots tapped a continuous if slightly muffled rhythm on the floor as he walked toward Fortaleza's castle. Divum, his Umbreon, was chasing his other Pokémon, an Absol named Fidelis, around him, while he was looking at the preparations for the festival. It certainly wasn't like the Britannian festivals back home, nor was it like the lower classes' revelries, and it wasn't quite like the Ivencan ones, either.

He moved the sword sheathed across his back to a more comfortable position and stopped, looking at a pair of dancers rehearsing was seemed like quite a complicated dance involving large leaves on an open-air stage. His two Pokémon stopped playing and looked at the dancers as well. For a while they watched, then he crouched, moving the sword so its point won't be ruined, and petted Divum.
“What do you think, Divum? Is their dance pleasing?” he asked the Pokémon, which closed her and purred. Fidelis looked down at them with a disapproving look, inasmuch as a feline face like the Absol's could convey one.

Tacitus noticed the look and got up, dusting his knee-protectors to clean them from the muck that seemed to cover every single cobblestone in Fortaleza. Looking around, he spotted the castle at the distance and resumed his march. Soon enough, his Pokémon followed. He spent the rest of the walk examining a scroll; it was a request for a Legend Hunter's services. It did not seem that this particular Hunt would lead him any closer to Jirachi — of that the Britannian was quite sure — but he thought that perchance one of the other Hunters would have some information about it. It was signed by one Tsubasa, whose name seemed to be of Avian origin to Tacitus, and one Claudius, whose name showed him to be a fellow Britannian.

He arrived at the castle's gates, politely nodding to the guards while he and his Pokémon surveyed the plaza, looking for the duo. Having spotted them, they noticed the ragtag group gathered around them — the other Hunters, no doubt. Tacitus approached the group. The girl riding the Kangaskhan was pretty... rough, it seemed, and the others didn't quite catch his attention, aside from the blonde boy, who was obviously Ivencan and probably noble from the look of his armour, as well as seeming vaguely familiar. Still, he approached the sole Avian in the group, probably the Tsubasa who signed the letter.

“Ave, Avian,” he said. “I am Gaius Cornelius Tacitus, Praefectus of the first Ala Ivencum. I have heard tell that you require my services?”

"Yup," Jill replied to Kyuden with a smile, jumping off of Sheila's shoulders and landing on her feet in front of the young man. "Saying goodbye to your dad before he goes away, kid? Don't worry, we'll try to make sure he's safe and comes back to you. Won't we Sheila?"

The kangaskhan nodded, and then stepped forward, attempting to give a consolatory hug the alleged boy.

A small yipping noise caught Constantine's attention. Turning, he saw Peleus darting across the street towards him. Kneeling down, he held out his arms, which she gladly jumped into.

"So... which way?" he asked her, as she put her head on his shoulder. She briefly lifted her head and sneezed in the general direction of the gates before resuming her former position.

"Ah. Splendid."

-

As constantine made his way out, he observed the group standing next to the statue he noticed on his way in a day or so before.

"Many pokemon, two older men, and a group that looks to be made of singularly unusual individuals..." he nodded. "That sounds like what we're looking for, no?"

Merodach grunted agreement.

As they approached, Constantine considered how best to introduce himself. A few benevolent smiles and empty words of kindness were unlikely to have the same effect here as on the general populace.

In the end, he decided simply to approach silently, and say nothing that didn't need to be said.

Slowly the old man was walking on the road to Fortaleza, his wooden staff making a sound every time it hit the ground again. This periodic sound had accompanied Cassius on his entire way here, giving him some kind of inner calm through its steadiness. The trip had been a peaceful one and combined with the calm, that flowed through him, Cassius entered an almost trance-like state, not even noticing a cart racing towards him so its driver had to make a frantic attempt at dodging, two of the cart's wheels even lifting off of the ground for a short time before they hit the ground again, the resulting noise knocking Cassius out of his own mind world again.
Surprised, he looked behind himself to see the cart swerving about.
"The calm eye catches the deepest dream...", he muttered to himself, shielding his eyes from the sunlight blazing from above as he continued on his path.

Finally having reached the city itself, Cassius sat down on a nearby bench for a moment to recover from the long journey and to observe the preparations, that were going on everywhere. Such busyness everywhere. People should just try to find their inner peace and find the time to relax once in a while, or they will never be able to reap the fruit of their labour.

After a few minutes of observing the youth of today, the old man sighed and got up again, using his staff to support him. Above the roofs the Fortaleza castle could already be seen, so he had no trouble finding his way through the alleys, ignoring a few bratty children making fun of him because of his age.

When he finally had reached the castle, two men fell in his field of vision, standing right in front of the castle gates. Around them a small group of people had already formed, so it wasn't difficult to come to the conclusion, that those were the men he was supposed to talk to. Slowly Cassius approached the group, bowing deeply as he spoke:
"A most wonderful good day, dear sirs and madams. It is an honour to meet you all."

After bowing to what he thought was the old man who organized them all here, he walked towards the child with the blonde hair and Ivencan eyes.

Hi! Here to Hunt some Legends?

He stared at the boy coldly, So enthusiastic isn't he? He started to talk, his baritone voice sounding deadpan and full of snide. "Why, no, I'm here because I've heard there is a special food fighting contest for people who all look like fighters, I've made all the way from Yasui to Feurach just for that."

He thought for a few seconds. Well as much as the boy is childish, he is still a member of the team. Perhaps I should think of being mannerful, getting the legendaries is going to need teamwork, just like old man Sav said, they are no joke, we will need a lot of cunning, resourcefulness, teamwork and strength to actually achieve something, he advised to me to show some respect by using what he calls "basic manners". If it helps I'll do it.

He went to shake the young golden haired boy's hands.

"As I said, Glace Dupont, I'm supposed to be polite to you people, or so the old man said. So I'm sorry if I insulted you or something." He said it reluctantly; obviously he doesn't like having to use courtesy. And he didn't show a lot of actual respect that you'd expect in a formal greeting, terrible at hiding his feelings aswell, even if he was ever taught how to use manners. He doesn't show it.

If Kyuden would decide to agree shake hands with him, he would notice Glace's black fur gloves feel rough, and old, they feel well made, but not top notch, it was tailored for a noble, but a minor one, it would feel like they've been used, a lot of times and in a lot of different terrains.

After maybe shaking hands with the boy, he noticed a fully armored man with an Umbreon and an Absol. He seemed like a commander, the dominant type. Funny, a past thief and someone who is probably a military commander in the same team, I can already see that this will be one marvel of a journey.

A few seconds after the rough looking red-headed woman with the red lumberjack apparel jumped from the big brown and cheerful Kangaskhan. He went to shake hands with her aswell, the same reluctant look as he had when he talked to the blonde kid. He meanwhile studied her looks, she obviously survived alone, even only by looking at her fingers her hands looked roughened It looks like that clothing is most certainly not a joke, I wonder how many freaking trees she carries daily, she looks energetic enough though, just like the little kid. "I'm Glace, from Yasui, You?"

Frost noticed the Kangaskhan, a thought went to her head, and she slightly smirked, while Glace didn't notice her fast enough to stop her. She swiftly tried to climb from the Kangaskhan's back to the head, she looked at the humans while comfortably sitting lying down atop the creature's head, studying the humans her friend would have to live with.

Right after probably shaking hands with the woman, he noticed his companion lying down and facing the others. He eyed her from below the creature looking at her with a bland and unsuprised look, rubbed his temples, and said:"Sorry about my companion, I think she wants to look at you and the others from a better angle while trying to torment me." He sighed and rolled his eyes.

After hearing Glace's words, she smiled at him and chuckled, she took another few glances at the other humans in the group, an even bigger smirk was on her face now as she looked at Glace.

Glace saw Frost's look, he has been living with her enough time to know what she was thinking, something along the lines of: Well, this is going to be a wonderful little journey for you isn't it?

Glace snickered. "Oh I know what you're thinking. But remember, you're a part of this journey aswell. I guess unlike me though, you'll be too amused to care."

He noticed another man approached the group, Trying to silently approach us huh? Considering his clothing I thought he'd make some grand entrance of sorts. Although perhaps he is the type who is so bored of being a noble, and so bored of the world in general that he doesn't care. I probably wouldn't need to introduce myself to him, unlike the others.

He moved his sight and stared at Frost again. But she didn't move, still having the mischievous look on her face. She was visibly enjoying the situation.

Glace then looked at the woman again. "Yeah, that is going to happen with her, a lot."

He heard a voice greeting them, and turned his head, he saw an old man with a weird walking cane.

I'll need to fake respect for this guy aswell, he seems old though, almost unfittingly for this journey.

He waved to the old man, although he didn't really have an expression of respect on his face. "Glace Dupont. It is an honor to meet you aswell".

He shifted his focus to the redhead again; looking at her fingers, he was curious. But he decided that perhaps it is better to not ask why she has those marks. A lot was hidden in his hands, and he was not going to tell anyone about his past, whether through showing his marks or by talking.

Hitomi turned, and made the swift realisation that what must have been her group (probably. Hopefully) had gathered whilst she'd been gawking and reminiscing. Damn! Why were memories so engrossing?!

In any case, she hurried over, rather eager to meet her new companions, and, more importantly. Rather anxious that this was the right group: "Excuse me, Is this the... Uh, Legend Hunters, I think?" To be fair, she'd had a deal more on her mind than their name to think about when she signed up, though Hitomi wished she'd paid more attention now.

There were quite the assortment of people and pokemon there - Some from nations she recognised, some she didn't. Still, she probably had the largest pokemon of their group, which made her feel rather... Proud, oddly. Hitomi was pretty certain she'd never been that competitive. Ah well, you learn something new every day, and with this bunch... Well, her life would never be boring again!

The kangaskhan nodded, and then stepped forward, attempting to give a consolatory hug the alleged boy.

Kyuden didn't make any effort to avoid the hug (what does a six hundred pound maternal kangaroo do? Whatever she wants). However he had to cut power Beirtant's leash spell, for fear of shocking his "attacker". After a moment he squirmed to signal the kangaskhan to let him go.

"Ah, no," Kyuden rubbed the back of his head, he hated having to say this kind of thing, "actually, I'm a Hunter too. Kyuden Eisenhart, twenty, I'm older than I look."

While he let the lumberjill mull that over, he turned to the Yasuite who had spoken to him.

Kyuden actually snorted at Glace's sarcasm. The guy scored points for his delivery, plus Kyuden had never cared much for people wearing masks. So without hesitation he took the offered hand and shook it.

"Kyuden Eisenhart, and no insult taken. My tutors always hated that I'd prefer to be honest than polite." Kyuden narrowed his eyes and leant in. "Now if there is a food fight coming, I should warn you. I'm a pretty crummy with baked goods. I find fruits much more appealing."

While Glace talked to Jill, Kyuden glanced at the newcomers. A Britannian knight in full armour, who Kyuden vaguely recognised. An old man, who seemed to have decided to mimic every cliche of an old sage. A younger noble, adorned in a bunch of clothes that Kyuden could see not surviving the first day's travel.

And a girl who'd just arrived, with a gyarados. Kyuden saw the burns, but did his best to not stare or look pityingly at her. Plenty of soldiers from the Troubles had told him off for that.

"Excuse me, Is this the... Uh, Legend Hunters, I think?"

"Yep, Kyuden Eisenhart. Glad to me you."

Merodach shifted impatiently, letting out a small growl.

"Easy, my friend," Constantine told him over his shoulder, reaching out one of his armored hands to pat his arm. "I'm sure we'll get underway soon enough."

Merodach gritted his teeth, but composed himself admirably, even managing to pry his gaze away from the Kangaskhan. Warrior that he was, he recognized a fight here wouldn't be in their best interests, however diverting he might find it.

"We'll find others along the way, I'm sure," Constantine reassured him, giving a mischievous smirk. "Besides, Peleus needs her excercise, too. I think she'd feel rather left out."

A grumble of complaint came from the vulpix, indicating she wouldn't feel anything of the sort, but he ignored her.

"Oh.... okay," Jill replied to Kyuden. "I'm Jill, and I'm here too, so I guess we're working together." Despite his appearance, though, she certainly didn't find him the oddest one of the bunch. In fact, trying to determine who held that honor appeared rather difficult - if not downright impossible.

At the same time, Sheila looked at him when he released himself from the embrace, then shrugged her shoulders. He was older than they thought, but oh well. They didn't need to worry about him in that case. Instead, she lifted up her arms to pet the catweasel on her head.

"Oh good... Right people this time..." Hitomi laughed, a little nervous, and gave him a theatrical bow for his troubles, "I'm Hitomi Itzal." She was rather pondering the wisdom of being so familiar with these people, but really, she'd have to try to be friendly at some point - These people were supposed to be her teammates. It wasn't like she was in any direct danger, anyway: Who would threaten someone defended by a sea-dragon?

Talking of sea-dragons, Capoeira was coiled up behind Hitomi, and looked rather thoughtful, apparently judging the quality of the others and their pokemon. Hopefully her evaluation wouldn't end up in a Hydro Pump... Hitomi was sure these people would be fairly tolerant, but she was almost certain that being half-drowned would not be great for them... Perhaps she should get Eira back into the pocket dimension before she did something...

A large group of people and Pokémon had already formed around the base of the unveiled statue. A cloaked figure had been watching them from the top of a nearby building, judging their personalities, abilities and overall standings with each other. It seemed that apart from the two who had been there from that morning, all who were present were unfamiliar with each other and generally attempting to get to know one another as swiftly as possible. This wasn't said cloaked figure's style, as she preferred to watch from a distance and join in later from the shadows.

Unfortunately, this wasn't the opinion of a certain Murkrow who deemed himself bored and fidgety today. He kept pacing up and down the rooftop, screeching now and then, trying to be as big of a pain as possible. This really did tick off the rooftop watcher and ended up with throwing a boot at the bird. This just made him worse... On the other rooftop nearby, a Swanna was comfortably sat, preening himself in the midday sun, paying no heed as to what was occurring between his Mistress and fellow companion. Sometimes it was just easier to ignore them than encourage them.

Finally, after wrestling with the Murkrow and retrieving her boot, the hooded figure got him to shut up and sit quietly. Due to such things, he now needed to preen himself, so this meant he would be quiet for another five, ten minutes which was plenty of time for the lady in green to go and introduce herself without any unwanted interruptions. It could have been easier to send the little mischief away to the pocket dimension, but she knew that her Pomémon preferred to remain in this world, thus for the most part that's where they remain.

Deciding that now was the right time, the young Drohung raced from rooftop to rooftop, cloak flapping behind her as she did so, with silent leaps and bounds. She found the small gap between two houses that she used to climb up and shimmed down between them startling a couple of Sewaddle who were hanging out on their silk lines from the eaves of the house. Once at ground level, she reached round to her bag and pulled out a piece of parchment, studied it for the fourth time that day, rolled it up again and stuck it in her belt. With this she proceeded to the group of mingling people and came forth to the original two from that morning.

"Good morning sirs, it's to my belief that you are the ones who pinned this to an outpost three leagues west from here?" She said, pulling out the piece of parchment and handing it to the elder looking of the two. During this, a distinctively powerful flapping sound emerged from behind as the Swanna came to a landing behind the cloaked woman. A not so impressive flapping also hurried it's way forward, followed by the screeches of a Murkrow. The black bird landed on the shoulder of the cloaked woman and ruffled his feathers, puffing himself out to look slightly bigger than he was, always the show off. The Swanna just sighed, shaking his head a little whilst rolling his eyes.

Removing her hood, the silver haired woman intoduced herself and her Pokémon, "I am Swanhild Drohung, this is Screi," gesturing to the Murkrow, "and this is Schwan." gesturing to the Swanna who had moved himself to her right side, "I am pleased to make your acquaintances as I am here to hunt Legends and to adventure lands that no one has ventured to before." With this she bowed before the two and moved aside tickling Screi under his beak, which he always adored. Schwan just followed suit, watching the the events happening before him. Nothing seemed to be of interest to him really, so he just sat beside his Mistress and waited for something to happen.

Arthur was making his through the road to Fortaleza. A young Dratini hung around his neck and by his side walked a Slowking with a walking stick. He sighed as he approached the castle gates.

"Somehow, I get the feeling we're running late."

The Slowking nodded.

"Slow slow."

Arthur shook his head.

"No need to rub it in Merlin. This is partly your fault after all."

"Kyuden, well met, equally you Glace." Tsubasa did not mimic either Hunter's formal greeting or attitude, although he seemed a little surprised if nothing else, the Hunters tended to be those of a very casual nature. "Perhaps we don't share your noble ways in Avios, but a simple greeting will be plenty."

Of course, it then became clear that Kyuden was in fact not particularly formal after all - which garnered a small amusement from Tsubasa and an instinctive shake of the head.

The arrival of Gaius provoked more of a reaction from the Britannian than the Avian, even if the commander's greeting was towards the latter. "So you are the one I have heard so much about? I can hardly believe it is true! It is a pleasure to meet you Praefectus, I am Claudius Naso."

Whilst Claudius attempted to make himself known to Tacitus, Tsubasa stood back as the other Hunters slowly arrived around them and contrary to the friction he had expected, actually began getting along at least somewhat amicably although it was far from unwelcome, it did surprise the veteran Hunter a great deal.

Once the archer with the birds had joined the group, Tsubasa racked his memory and he believed all he had asked for had arrived. He loudly cleared his throat and spoke, loudly enough that he would be heard over the others.

"So, why don't we discuss the details of our hunt? Claudius here tells me, that Entei roams these lands to the south of Feurach - in fact, he claims he saw the pokémon himself, only feet from the outer walls of this city. He has implored me to form a team of Legend Hunters and capture this Legend - this is why we are here."

Claudius briefly turned his head before collecting his thoughts and continuing for the Hunter. "Yes, it was here, approximately two days ago when the very first preparations were underway. It is so incredibly unlikely that a pokémon of that kind would make it's way so close to civilisation! We must capture it and find out what it is doing around here! Of course, I will pay very well for this service..." Claudius' Liepard seemed almost ready to jump at the opportunity to fight something, but the old man gently stroked the pokémon's forehead "We have had our adventures now, it is their time."

"It's not often that we get to go out where the legend has already been seen, so we should get moving as soon as possible. We'll leave as soon as you're all ready." Tsubasa gave a nod towards a inn, the one which he had been staying in whilst in Fortaleza. "You can find us in there when you're ready. Or of course, we can leave right now if you already are - I've taken care of supplies, unless any of you require something specific."

Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.

"The only thing we require is that Entei," Constantine asserted, earning an enthusiastic huff from Merodach. "Let's hunt."

Entei huh? The Running Beasts were some the Legendaries most often seen. They didn't seem to have secret lairs they hid away in, but rather just ran. In fact, a couple of teams had even engaged them in battle. Briefly.

Either the Hunters were knocked out or the Legendary ran. They could even run when they were sleeping.

At the question of readiness Kyuden did a mental check. He wasn't that tried from his amble up to Fortaleza, he had hoped to rest a bit, but a Running Beast could be halfway across Aquas by now. He cast the second spell most trainers learnt - a health checker - at his pokemon. Lekaro was fine, and Beirtant was-

Not on its leash. Right.

Kyuden glanced around, looking for his gremlin. And sighed that it hadn't wandered far. Seemed more curious about the newcomers than pranking them.

"Beirtant, come here," he ordered while he rolled up the copper wire and hooked it on his hip.

"Ro!" the rotom giggled and hid by floating behind the gyarados.

"Come here now, or I'll send you back in your pokédim."

"Ro, ro, ro," Beirtant continued to snicker.

Kyuden turned to the rest and grinned sheepishly, "I'm ready to go, just give me a minute to get Beirt under control."

The plasma ball seemed to have decided to prank Kyuden rather than the others. Since it kept circling in the other direction around the gyarados. As long as Kyuden couldn't get a clear line of sight, he couldn't send it back to its pokédim.

"Ohhh, Entei?" Jill said. "I've never seen him, but they say he looks like a large kitten. I'm ready, are we really going to have to wait around for anyone?"

Tacitus turned to Claudius, inclining his head. “Ave, Claudius,” he said. “'Tis an honour to help a fellow Britannian.” His Umbreon, meanwhile, walked slowly toward the Liepard and sniffed it.
When Tsubasa explained the situation, the Praefectus furrowed his brow. He knew he had enough supplies, but he wasn't so sure about the others. He decided that it would be best for him to see what the others think before deciding. That said, the Ivencan boy — Kyuden Eisenhart — rang some bells in his mind. Leaving Divum to sniff at the Liepard, Fidelis decided to chase the Rotom around as well while her master walked up to Kyuden.
“Ave, Eisenhart,” he said, “pardon my directness; are you a scion of the Ivencan Nobility?”

Eira the Gyarados seemed quite agitated, as she tried to watch the pokemon running around her, hissing like a hot kettle, although, considering she was being used as some sort of maypole, that was hardly surprising. Hitomi gave her a pat, and a hopefully-soothing smile, deciding to ignore the situation as long as the sea-serpent stayed calm, and didn't try to bite anyone or anything.

"I'm ready as I'll ever be." Hitomi shrugged, so, it was Entei they were chasing, huh? Well, Hitomi couldn't see anything wrong with that - She'd heard of the thing, briefly, though, to be honest, she didn't know an awful lot about the creature, but she hoped it wasn't going to turn out to be something that could whoop a Gyarados' ass, because, to be honest, a Horsea probably wasn't going to be all that useful...
