Fuck you uncle seriously.
I consider it my duty to ensure that, should you be surprised by a bear in your library, you will have ample ammunition to beat it to death.Mmm. He's rather more rotten than we expected, ain't he?
It's interesting how we have no problems blaming him- and to a lesser extent Benten- for the whole thing, but the man who actually killed and cooked papa gets off nearly blameless.
I think it's matter of intent and malice.

One is a good person doing bad things he dosen't even think are bad. And the last one has some kind of Blue-and-Orange Morality going on.
And the bad person seems to have been the primary instigator here.

Episode 11: So apparently cages prevent tanukis from transforming. That explains a lot.
Kaisei was awesome this episode and next episode: holy crap the False Eizan Electric Railway is back!
Ebisugawa-dad has issues...

Episode 12. Which can best be summed up by this bad quality video from The Simpsons. *Implicit Spoiler Warning*
drunk driving saves lives

Should've checked the list.Episode 12: Alcohol solves everything!
Wasn't that too obvious to be worth pointing out?
I think it ended well. No epic confrontations or conflicts, just a bit of fun chaos. Would love to see more of these characters.
Episode 13: Out of all the anime I've seen this season, this one had the best ending. I liked how it all came together in the end. Glad to see Froggy reconcile with his family.
I loved how all the elders spontaneously transformed at the sight of Benten.

Shimogamo matriarch apparently has her own harem. Every man was practically fighting over her
But I am still bothered by that old man. There was no explanation to what he is. Also, the uncle got away relatively scot-free.
"If music be the food of love, PLAY ON" - William ShakespeareI thought that old man was pretty obviously a Tengu.
I thought he was like Benten, a human cunning enough to pick up some major supernatural mojo.
What's precedent ever done for us?68: Well, he did if "he went to a hot spring and we never saw him again" wasn't a euphemism. I think anything dealing with boiling water and disappearance can very reasonably be considered a tanuki analogue to "sleeping with the fishes."
Even if we don't interpret it that way, he's definitely been exiled and ex-communicated, so that's hardly scot-free. Especially for a guy as proud as him.
I liked the ending.
I never would have predicted the chaos to play out quite that way.
The reconciliation of almost everything was good but I especially liked the realisation the professor came to.
Sometimes you have to do what you have to do even if it costs you your job.
I want more of this.
