Wow, so funny. So topical. So witty.

This post

I feel there is A LOT of mileage that could be drawn from playing Brainiac as a tech villain, and having him play into the tech themes relevant to us: surveillance, privacy etc.

Perhaps rather than a full scale invasion of brute force, he could spend the bulk of the movie using our tech against us, such that by the time he strolls in humanity is too busy dealing with its own creations to handle him.

I don't know if anyone has noticed this already but I just found out that Jimmy Olsen's actor is only a few months older than Superman's actor. surprised

It's the little things:

The "first flight" scene in Mo S is the happiest, most hopeful music in the entire film (and in the entire DCEU so far). It's where Superman truly becomes Superman. And it also comes after Jor-El's hopeful speech about how mankind will eventually join him in the sun.

The "Must there be a Superman?" montage (I believe it's called "Day of the Dead" on the soundtrack) is where Superman is feeling the full weight of being the most powerful being in the world. He's at the "they will stumble, they will fall" part of Jor-El's speech, and wondering if he'd ever get to the whole "sun" part. You'll notice that both start the same way:

-In Mo S, the score kicks in when Supes looks up hopefully toward the sky, determined to fly. The music rises and then bursts into the flight theme.

-In Bv S, the score kicks in when Supes looks up skeptically toward the sky, wondering how he's supposed to deal with these people treating him like a god. The music rises but doesn't give way to the cathartic resolution of "flight." Instead it falls into the requiem version of the flight theme.

Flight theme - start at 1:00

Day of the Dead - start at 1:35

"If you weren't so crazy I'd think you were insane."

Has anyone heard the weird theory that the Wizard of Oz is more than just referenced by Bv S? Meaning that Clark is Dorothy, Lois is the scarecrow, Bruce is the tin man, and Diana is the cowardly lion. I don't really see it, but now I want to know what would happen if Clark ended up in Oz somehow.

[up]He would roam aimlessly and silently until a person in need of saving pops out like a wild pokemon. If this Superman is effected by magic oh boy. The Poppies will put him to a nigh eternal rest before he dies in his sleep. I think he would be distressed, which means Glinda saves him. If he kills anyone she might kick him out of Oz. If he exterts his moral high ground above hers she might kick him out of Oz. She is Oz's Superman after all. As long as she's in power there isn't much trouble for Clark to respond to.

If he kills anyone she might kick him out of Oz.

She seemed okay with the Wicked Witches' deaths.

On a different note, how sore will Batman have been the day after the events of the movie? And how would this Clark react to accidentally hurting Batman if that ever happened?

I read an old comic where some aliens gave Batman superpowers and then made Batman and Superman fight to see who was the better hero. I guess those aliens were the fanboys that keep wanting Batman and Superman to fight? Of course, fighting would have been out of character for that version of Superman and Batman. I wonder how silver age Superman(who was BFFs with silver age Batman, along with the folks at the Daily Planet) would react to the DCEU Batman?

I'm thinking it's a parody of similar mashup videos all over youtube. On that end it's far better than most, alterations like the "False Jedi" on the statue, the Death Star in the Metropolis skyline or replacing the Batwing with a TIE Fighter are pretty seamless, fitting that it was made by professionals and not internet lurkers playing with Windows Movie Maker.

You say that, but I've seen really good fan-made videos from these so-called internet lurkers that are just as good as that without being an obnoxious mish-mash of garbage.

Yeah, I'm actually not sure why you guys are panning it. If anything, the fact that the modified "bleed" line by Batman sounds a little too authentic to be impersonated should speak volumes about the video's production values.

Plus, there's nothing more fear inducing than seeing Batman with a lightsaber crawl up from rubble.

But, "Clark, I am your father" just wouldn't work. And how many "Batman is already on the Dark Side" jokes have there been? I thought it was funny.

It's the first teaser trailer for BVS down to the second but using sound bites from Star Wars and modifying the individual shots to include Star Wars imagery. The mish-mash feel of the video is because that is how the first trailer went, overlapping sound bites from different people sharing opinions. The back half of the video reflects the trailer, fewer sound bites and more emphasis on the images.

Watching it a second time, it is really cool to see Batman standing on the crane with the Millennium Falcon taking off.

Well, while being paranoid that Superman would go rogue, Batman actually was in real danger of legit becoming the bad guy! Violence isn't the answer, unless there's an unstoppable monster or some legit bad guys trying to kill you. And they didn't need to do the Bat season, Kryptonian season, Bat season, Kryptonian season, Doomsday season thing. Yes, I got that from Bugs Bunny and the rabbit season, duck season thing.

Oh, and Clark shouldn't say stupid stuff like "The Bat is dead. Bury it." Even though it may sound tough, it is counterproductive to say things that might come off as a death threat. Especially to someone who already has violent tendencies. Batman generally picks the fight from fight or flight response. Do not threaten or scare Batman. Even though he will deny being scared.
