"Dude, I will hug you to your grave!"
"No you won't!"
"We are friends!"
"No we aren't!"

I'm convinced. All Batman/Superman battles should end like this from now on.

Superman then hugs Batman into needing a trip to the emergency department.

You just know HISHE Batman's going to rip him a new one about all of the property damage in Man Of Steel.

And then HISHE Superman will counter with Bruce being a penniless vagabond living off of Selina Kyle, leaving Alfred and Lucius to tend to the fallout of Wayne Enterprises.

Wait, since this is a reboot... both of them reboot for Batman, he's going to get a new HISHE character model.

[up]It isn't a reboot of Man of Steel they did a new character model for Superman after Man of Steel.

They will probably change Batman's suit when they do a HISHE for Batman v Superman.

I would absolutely watch a movie about HISHE Superman. He's a great guy.

wild mass guessBatman and Superman will be Vitriolic Best Buds by the end of the movie. Clark would have to hold back to avoid accidentally killing Batman. Which would prevent a Curb Stomp, because there wouldn't be much room between a Curb Stomp and killing Batman. Especially since Batman never gives up.

He could just do to Power Armored Bruce what Hulk did to Loki.

I'll admit that would be funny.

So I ended up stumbling upon THIS, a full few of the Bat suit in the chamber from the trailer. It's inspired by the TDKR version, to be sure, but in overall look is pretty much the most faithful looking batsuit made for film. The other movies tried to justify the molded PVC as being that he needed to look heavily armored, but this feels every bit as protective and looks a lot more mobile at the same time. I like that instead of trying for the sleek, smooth lines they don't care if the fabric bunches up a little.

Yeah, I'm actually really digging the costumes for this. But that's barely a bat. Hopefully later movies will remedy it. If you curved the all edges of the wings inward a little bit I'd give it a pass.

Still want the huge Keaton ears back though.

I don't get the point of the emblem on his chest anymore.

[up]Well, without the emblem, he'd look more like a devil than a bat, and then Daredevil would sue him for all he's worth. (I want to make a joke about Daredevil being a lawyer here, but I can't think of anything...)

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.

The Whedon weighs in.

They don't think Batman can win? Batman would beat the Avengers just as easily as Superman. He'd set Hulk on Thor, then when Hulk wins just give him some mood pills, shame Captain America about Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer, get a giant magnet for Ironman, just beat the ever-loving crap out of Purple Arrow and use his batcharm on Black Widow. All the bad girls love the Batman.

I think it's important to realize that there is no real need for a pissing contest on whose going to make the better movie. Whedon is a huge comic book fan with a dream job, but he has every right to be excited about the competition. Truth is competition is what drives quality, and if Dawn of Justice manages to win people over with a more serious tone and heavier themes, then the ball goes into Marvel's court to not rely on broad comedy and big action.

Funny thing, I find myself referring to the movie as just Dawn of Justice rather than Batman v Superman. Just strange I prefer the subtitle over the main title. World's Finest, while the traditional name, is kind of generic (it's an adjective describing the two, but is not a team name nor character name).

I agree. I think the versus title is kind of silly, especially since the movie is probably not going to actually boil down to a fight between Superman and Batman.

It's funny how some people are complaining about this movie being too dark despite the subtitle sounding rather optimistic.

A somewhat hopeful sounding subtitle isn't equal every frame of this film shown so far being dark and grim. A trailer is way bigger than a title.

Trailers Always Lie, and the humor found in Man of Steel wouldn't translate well to a trailer (like him snapping the handcuffs is mostly funny because he spends like 5 minutes in them, in a trailer it's just him breaking the handcuffs).

Granted, how a trailer is marketed is an important matter in telling the audience what to expect. But to assume a movie will be joyless based on the trailer is also a fallacy.

They don't assume it's joyless just because of the trailer. They assume it's joyless because Man of Steel was joyless and because DC and WB's approach seems to be more of the same.

The flying scene was pure joy, ergo, the Man of Steel film cannot be joyless.

"94% joyless" is less fun and more pedantic to type. But I digress. We were talking about the trailer.
