Planning on making a web-based mockumentary

Hey all.

Let me introduce myself. I'm universetwisters. Enough about me, I reckon. This is also my first post here, so my apologies if this is the wrong section or if I do anything else wrong or improper.

Anyway, as the title suggests, I'm planning on making a mockumentary series, similar in setup to "Devvo" or "Trailer Park Boys", but with the humor and personalities of the Dutch comedy "New Kids". Basically, the "episodes", which I'll put up on Youtube, will revolve around a character by the name of "Trey", who is an anti-social, model train fanatic, raver, GTA nerd who lives in Fort Collins, CO. The episodes will follow Trey around going about his daily life, with Trey interacting with people who have nothing to do with the show, kinda like Borat or Bruno, if that's one way to describe it.

Problem is, I don't know how to make it good. I've made other youtube videos before, but the vast majority of them were mashups and nightcore mixes, so I'm not that experienced in how to pull off something similar to a mockumentary. I can imagine it wouldn't be too expensive to pull off, seeing as all I would really need is editing software (Windows Movie Maker could probably pass, given that Trey's a cheap guy), a decent camera to film, and a cameraguy (could probably be passed off as one of Trey's friends). Everything else, including props, outfits, etc. could come from my own personal collection of stuff.

Earlier today, I made a really rough draft of how it might look, but it wasn't a mockumentary or anything. I also filmed it with my laptop webcam, seeing as I couldn't get a decent camera, which is why the lighting is so bad.
