Kickstarter Page

Short summary:

  • Basically an open-world version of Syndicate Wars from the creator who used to work on SW.
  • Class system for your agents.
  • Several ways to conquer the city.
  • They ask for 350K Pounds, or 550K Dollars. For extra 30K pounds or 50K dollars they will hire Russell Shaw, the guy responsible for most of Bullfrog's and Lionhead's games soundtracks.

EDIT: I screwed up, supposed to be Reign.

This game has been out for years now, and yet I haven't played it at all until recently when I subscribed to Humble Monthly and browsed thru the Humble Trove. I've put at least 10 hours into it so far, having cleared through the Downtown district and almost done with the Industrial district.

I'm liking it a lot, despite a somewhat rough initial early game as I tried to get used to the controls. Not to mention the still-existing bug of certain characters clipping thru walls and the ground if I position the squad at the wrong angle, which screwed me over in at least one mission deep into enemy territory.

It's actually a pretty damn good Syndicate spiritual successor. You can load out your goons with the same kit, but obviously they're tailor to specific weaponry. I dip in and out of it - something great about sneaking your assassin into a shipyard, via vents, grabbing the data. And if things get dicey, have your heavy hitters trigger an alarm nearby to draw most of the security away.

Haven't got that far in the story, but I love it for what it is.
