By "cave" you refer metaphorically to a den in a modern house, I presume. Otherwise, my ramblings are useless to you.
Regardless of gender, somebody's metaphorical cave will vary greatly according to their personality. I've seen two places that could be described as a woman cave: one was identical to a man cave, unsurprising given its owner. My sister's might fit closer: a bar stocked with the ingredients to various girly drinks, a Wii with a variety of social games, a number of equally social board and card games, and various DVDs consisting mainly — but not exclusively, thank the heavens — of Chick Flicks.

Are you refering to a stereotypical lady socializing room? If that's the case, it would be meticuously decorated, coffee table covered with crafting, fashion and gossip magazines. DVD rack full of Chick Flicks. Probably some yoga mats rolled up in the corner... And so on amd so forth.
A lady cave is decorated with lace, vulgar embroideries, and the blood of her enemies.
that was beautiful
Sounds like a cool "cave".
My idea of a "Man Cave" is completely different to other people's ideas.
One of my sisters had her "craft room" which sort of qualifies as a Woman Cave as that was her retreat as well.
I've also had to put thought into "Woman Caves" for some of the characters in my stories and basically the only thing to do is start with the personality and interests of the character and imagine what she'd want around her.
Also, thinking of how that character would use the cave is important. Is it an area for socialising with select friends or a pure Fortress of Solitude? Is it where "The Girls" go to hang out while "The Boys" retreat to the Man Cave and play pool/watch the match/bullshit about fishing? Is it where she does her creative writing surrounded by things that inspire her, help her relax, get her into The Zone? Does it have multiple purposes or is it dedicated to one task. "This is normally where I come to get peace and quiet while I'm working on my thesis but I've also got my craft table in here and there are comfortable chairs and a well-stocked bar for when I have my best friends over for the evening."
Didn't see that in Better Home and Living.
It only takes one man to wallpaper a proper Woman Cave - provided you slice him thinly enough.
Got a pretty good idea of what a Man Cave would look like.
Anyone here got an idea what a Woman Cave would look like?
