I don't know if that's a good idea. I found most of the double length episodes such as criss cross crisis boring and with lots of padding. Not that confident in them pulling off an arc without it dragging.

So, this means that the new reboot will have a nearly identical artstyle to the original series?

A part of me thinks that they could've brought back the CGI-esque artstyle in the "Dance Pantsed" special. I'm probably one of the few people who thought it looked kind of neat.

Why is Big Billy still into crime? He liked being saved by the girls.

That episode ended with the girls getting annoyed by Billy and sending him to jail even after they saved his life. I don't think it was even the last Gangreen Gamg episode in airing order. I think that honor goes to the one where they give Sedusa superpowers.

I do prefer if the episode ended with Billy saving the day instead of the girls.

I just asked McKraken via Instagram about Ace appearing. He could just mean the animation won’t look different, he didn’t say anything about a time skip.

Just give Buttercup a proper special power, please. Up until that awful episode she was the only one to do that green twister move (Down n Dirty, Cover Up, the comics) then out of nowhere Blossom and Bubbles can too. So tired of her getting the least respect and being treated as less than her siblings.

Remember that when Blossom got a bad haircut the Professor comforted her. When Bubbles was scared of the dark he offered reassurance. When Buttercup decided against taking baths rather than talk to her about the importance of hygiene he threw her out of the house. Seeing a little discrepancy there.

Apparently Buttercup's name was supposed to be Bud, and her eye and dress color were originally going to be blue just like Bubbles.

I was moreso bothered by the episode where Buttercup was discovered to have a ”lucky blanket”, and it was treated as ridiculous for her to have one to the point where they effectively force her to give it up at the end. (And then the Professor takes it)

So was the supposed message there that if you’re ”the tough one” in a group, you’re not ”allowed” to have such things? Bubbles always had all of her stuffed animals that she also had for support and that was treated as perfectly fine, so was that OK because she was the girliest or something?

Regardless of whether or not that was what the writers MEANT, the Unfortunate Implications and hypocrisy are still there.

When I first saw the PPG in What a Cartoon Bubbles was an early fave because I liked her design best. The pigtails are cute. Talking to the squirrel is cute. Freaking out over her hair getting blasted with a meat gun was funny.

Then came the actual show where she was blatantly the favorite who got the most spotlight episodes (literally double the focus Buttercup got, I saw someone tally the episodes on tumblr), got to solo save the day the most times, and who never got a 'bad' ending like Blossom's Very Special Father's Day or Buttercup's Moral Decay.

Yet she screamed at and possibly injured people and the talking dog in Bubblevicious just because she wanted to be hard core. And everyone praises her for it. She's even more psycho in Octi Gone and again gets what she wanted at the end.

Please writers, reign in the Bubbles favoritism. Make her face consequences for once if she lashes out. Stop giving Buttercup the Zoidberg treatment. Give Blossom some more episodes that aren't just about being smart or being the leader. She needs some hobbies. She's got ice breath, maybe she likes to figure skate. A more equal focus for ALL the girls, good and bad shown in each of them but good triumphing in the end, that's all I ask.

I never got fans' complaints about the security blanket episode. It feels like the most standard anti-superstition episode in existence.

I dont hate Bubbles but I am realizing she is indeed too favored by the writers. I would say to the "If you like a character you should NOT get the Narrative to be unfairly biased towards them, you need to have them face consequences"

Bubbles has more problems understanding cause and consequence so she gets more leeway.

Yeah, it seemed that the difference was that Buttercup always knew when she was being selfish and hurting others, but Bubbles only hurt others as an unintended side effect of her immature lashing out. Something that would be less understandable, except that she's a literal kindergartner, and the only character who is written as such and thus the one who is most consistent.

I think that's the crux of the issue: the core concept of the show is cute innocent little girls who can kick ass, but only Bubbles is actually written as cute and innocent. She gets the most focus because she's the character who can most easily get plots that are uniquely Powerpuff, rather than general jerk superhero or pompous smart/mean girl types.

I feel like the girls act their age the most when written as a group, but when written as individuals, they're more mature to make Bubbles especially stand out.
