I was randomly kicked off Facebook, and when I tried to get back in, I was greeted with this message:

"Spam Warning

Sometimes spammers create fake pages that look like Facebook or another website. These pages usually offer you a great deal if you do something in return (ex: get free plane tickets when you copy and paste this special access token). It looks like you pasted sensitive info about your Facebook account onto on of these pages. As a result, your account started spreading spam.

Don't worry, we've secured your account."

Huh? I never pasted any kind of information anywhere!

I still can't get into my account, I even changed my password, but everytime I try to log back in, I keep getting this message. Anyone here have this issue?

You might also want to try the "Quickie Questions" thread in... YF, I think?

^^

You didn't do anything, but your account was compromised and you didn't catch it and change your password in time. Enough people reported that your account was spamming to where it was temporarily suspended, and you have to reset your password.

It could have been a multitude of things, but either way you got phished somehow. Just change your PW and you should be good to go.

I'd recommend that you contact people you are friends with on Facebook and ask them whether your account was actually spamming or whether the spam message is itself malicious.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

Depending on their criteria for that message, it could also be a game or app on Facebook itself. Pretty much all the games require you to give them permission to post status updates under your name (Usually just for stuff like "Bob just got 400 points in Super Punk Octo Pudding Gas Mark Seven! Click here to play!) I think some also ask for access to post on your friend's stuff, (again, usually under the guise of allowing you to send gifts and such,) but will actually just spam pages.

They lost me. Forgot me. Made you from parts of me. If you're the One, my father's son, what am I supposed to be?
