I'm just jabbing at the fact that capping off the toxic work environment revelations with he also mocks anime fans is kind of funny.

The problem is that Doug literally, according to one of the assistants hired for To Boldly Flee, still thought he was going to be the next Spielberg. Even James Cameron, at his absolute worst (where it was common for veterans of his productions to wear shirts going "You can't scare me, I work for Jim Cameron!") would give people the basics needed to you know, be healthy. So maybe he thought he was justified, when he clearly wasn't.
IIRC, that "next Spielberg" thing came from a post on 4chan from someone claiming to have worked as an assistant on Kickassia that was debunked as false. I mean, I'm not sure if Doug would be that delusional.

Just a person. He/him.The main issue with Doug generally seems to be that he surrounds himself with shit people and refuses to do anything about it when they are being shit people, even in front of him, making him complicit with shit people.
That and the crowdfunding disaster.
This is a bit off-topic, but is Linkara still affiliated with Channel Awesome? I didn't know how bad this off-stage stuff was.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Yes, according to his website.
Like 100% of all conventions he gets invited to are anime-themed.
Something doesn't add up.
That's mostly because anime conventions are THE conventions for general nerdery.
Read my stories!I stopped following Channel Awesome stuff regularly a while ago. Seems like that was the right call. What started out as something fun seems to have become something very much not fun.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI'm kinda glad the peak of TGWTG/Channel Awesome was kinda before my time because if it hadn't, I would have become a really huge fan and I would have been a lot more disappointed with all of this than I am.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseTechnically yeah, the site still hosts his videos but Linkara really doesn't do anything with the channel anymore. I think only Brad Jones still collaborates off and on with the channel.
But yeah, I kind of fell off the Channel Awesome bandwagon about a year or so after Critic got brought back. Just wasn't a fan of the reviews at the time and the older I get the less funny I find the Critic character. It's why I was mostly avoiding talking about this recent stuff too because I didn't want to import drama.

Brad has had his own site for a while too, he just more visibly collaborates with Doug still.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Brad's had his own site since before joining Channel Awesome.

I think Brad collaborates in part because he happens to live relatively nearby. Linkara isn’t that close.
Not Three Laws compliant. So are Linkara, Film Brain, and Mike J still ok? Those are the ones I still follow besides the critic.
Though I am quite pissed at paying 35 euros to Mike J for that card game he never got around to actually sending out to me. He doesn't respond to messages, and Kickstarter doesn't really do refunds on these things, apparently. Or deal with people who don't deliver.
Optimism is a duty.Wow, that sucks.
The only person on Channel Awesome whose work I follow these days is The Dom and his Lost in Adaptation show. I was actually slightly surprised when Doug cameoed in one of his videos, making me realize that he's affiliated with Channel Awesome. His work seems more... thoughtful that most of their content since Lindsay and Kyle left.
I do wonder if Doug's current audience is primarily teenagers who started watching him post-reboot, or whether the older fans still compose a significant part of his fandom.
I am also a big fan of the Dom (And donate to his Patreon)
I notice he usually incorporates viewer reactions, memes, and internet controversy into his reviews ( the "grown-up Jungle Book" comment as the latest example). I wouldn't be surprised if someone did some math and found out most of his current viewership consists of younger people who never followed him before 2013.
I want to see someone, anyone, from the company post a public response to all this.

I also follow The Dom on You Tube, he's pretty damn good.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Same here. I love to read, and I also love to watch movies, so I got hooked on his show pretty quickly.
Okay....roiling sea of controversy aside I largely agree with the review.
Is the critic rather doucheyabout it and incorporates a bizarre angle ( seriously who was calling it the grown up version ?) ? Yes, of course it’s N.C that’s his entire thing.
Another thing I’d like to add is that the “The jungle coming together “ thing really came out of nowhere.
Okay going up a bit, I think Film Brain is still alright. I haven't seen him say anything about the controversies being brought up but I haven't exactly seen a bad thing voiced about him by people either. If memory serves he hasn't done as many Bad Movie Beatdowns either lately, he's mostly been focused on his Projector videos.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I used to get Cinema snob and Film Brain mixed up a lot
New theme music also a box
Eh, I'd say it's a symptom of the same core personality flaws. He lords his taste over others and mocks anime and its fans without really knowing anything about it, because he hates it when people point out his anime-related mistakes.
