The comic is actually really good, from what I've heard.

I have to admit I don't get what the big deal with that Jem movie is. To me it just looks like a really bland, instantly forgettable piece of nothing rather than the Garbage Pail Kids-level atrocity Doug and Rob make it out to be.

Because of the behind the scenes bullshit, mostly. For what it's worth, Doug didn't hate is as much as Rob. Doug just thought it was so dumb it was funny.

On it's own, it's a bland but harmless film.

What happened was them re-contesting fan entires about the original series and using them to praise the character in the film, which Rob thought of as ultra scummy.

So maybe Rob should've reserved his hate for the youtube video footage to his Facebook and Real Thoughts instead of putting all that hate into a whole review.

Why? Then the review would've sucked.

Then don't make the review.

That would've been even dumber. I don't even see why they shouldn't have done it, most people liked it.

Because apparently, they never were into the JEM TV show at all, and would've passed on this movie if they had never heard of the horror stories behind the scenes. They actually had to sit through this movie JUST to make the review, instead of having it grow naturally from their own tastes. I'd also wager that the only reason they did hear about the horror stories is because they're friends with someone whose video made it into the movie!

And yet they still made it and it was still good. I don't even know what your point is.

It seems like he's saying that if they weren't going to rant the whole time, then they shouldn't have made the review.

They saved the rant for the end, though. They made sure to hold back. Until then, they riffed it like usual. I fail to see what needed to be changed or why it should be changed, it was a good review.

I'm not sure why you're complaining either. The fact that they didn't care for the TV show but still got angry on fan behalf is pretty nice.

I'm looking forward to Scooby Doo 2, I liked his review of the first. Although i have to say I think the sequel is better.

Also The Cat wins by reminding Grinch about his mother ? It really IS just like Batman vSuperman [grin]

Spoilers, but as someone who's already seen the review, they didn't think it was that much better than the first one. In fact, they thought it actually insulted not just the audience as a whole, but especially the kids the movie was aimed for, making them dumber than if they had just watched the actual cartoon. They actually praised the original cartoon by comparison, granting that it at least taught kids basic deductive skills and reasoning, but damned the film by saying it actively reducted those skills. Nevermind that it just wasn't a very well made movie anyway.

Also, expect a LOT of Psyche references; just an FYI.

I still don't see how the first movie was a jab at the fans of Scooby Doo. The only character I'd say got flipped the finger was Scrappy.

Tamara has a new show (or at least I hope so because it's really fun and cute) on movies she's never seen before, and she talks about Return To Oz.
