It's mostly "this short makes no sense".
??? No it's not, he likes most of the shorts, says it's better than the Matrix itself.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority. But he also says most of them "make no sense", even if he overall likes it.
He really only says that for the Wachowski ones
ok the mugs were hilarious XD
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority. When is Matrix month done? I'm getting tired of skipping these reviews.
(For the record, I'm skipping them because I intend to watch the movies on my own at some point. Did the same thing for the True Grit Old vs. New.)
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Next week should cover the third and last movie.
Holy cow. I expected this review to be worse than the last, considering Reloaded is worse than The Matrix, and I was right! What makes me think this franchise is a bit too SMART for Doug?? They SEEM to have very involved themes and theories, but those are so poorly presented that barely anyone can understand it.
I definitely wouldn't describe that problem as being too smart. Also, the only scene the NC said he had trouble understanding was the one with the architect; everywhere else he was just talking about it being wordy and pretentious.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."I thought this review was better than the last one, moved at a good clip.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority. The problem with the Architect is that his scene actually does make more sense...if you have a thesaurus. If he had just toned down the needlessly complex and long words, he would be much less confusing.
But yeah, it does boil down to Zion is basically a pressure valve as there are always those who will resist the system, the Matrix itself is somewhat unstable and needs to be rebooted occasionally, Neo is an anomaly that's shown up 6 times before and each time he chose to save Zion over his love, thus allowing Zion to repopulate, and the Matrix to reboot. This time around, he breaks the cycle by going after Trinity.

Not Three Laws compliant.I'm surprised Doug didn't save the Man of Steel joke for when Neo drags half the city with him to save Trinity.
Gt most of that, but didn't get the idea the previous 'ones' choose Zion over a loved one, more that Neo was the first to have one single 'love' to focus on, versus a more general love of humanity as a whole.
I liked this episode better than the last one. He kept the skits short and on point, and compared the previous movie more fairly against this one.
And agreed, this was a much better review then the first one.
I actually like The Matrix Reloaded better than either of the other movies, and I never found it that hard to follow (though, as has been mentioned, the Architect scene is basically a challenge of your ability to process a lot of big words very quickly).
That said, the mug gag at the end made me laugh seriously hard.
"It takes an idiot to do cool things, that's why it's cool" - Haruhara HarukoWhat's funny is that the Architect scene was the first time I actually tried to really pay attention to what the monologuing character is saying, and I could actually follow everything up to the point Doug called for a translation.
Say what you want about Scary Movie 3, but the moment when the spoof Architect whipped a thesaurus out for finding more complicated words to say was spot on.
everyone was thinking the Matrix within a Matrix theory by the end of the 2nd movie
It made so much seeeeense
You mean this?
Yep, that's the part.
Funny, it doesn't exactly play out the way I remembered it.
I remember seeing the trailer for Devil at the Scott Pilgrim premiere in my city.
Everyone seemed kind of into it, but the moment Shyamalan's name appeared in it everyone groaned and immediately wrote it off.
And this was just the trailer.
