I'm glad to discover that the Hooligan◊ from Devil Summoner will be returning as a demon, probably in the Foul race. This confirms that being a criminal in the universe of SMT IV makes you less than human.

I wonder if Jonathan voices Merkabah cause he voices a crazy old scarred man named Kiyoharu(? Spelling might not be right) in the Desert World.

I just noticed that once Hikaru reveals herself as Louis, she gets the mismatched eyes.

...Louis hasn't had the mismatched eyes since SMTII. Nocturne and Strange Journey omit them for whatever reason.

Walter being absorbed into Louis sounds just so...nasty. And while I can't tell what he is saying, Walter sounds so happy before hand, like he doesn't get what is about to happen to him.

Also, wow, first form Louis looks super ugly.

Yeah, out of all the alternate designs in this game, I'm really hoping Lucifer's don't stick.

The designs in this game are a bit... ehh...

I can tolerate the archangels, but I really don't like Lucifer and Lilith.

I like some of the new and minor demon designs a lot, though.

Minotaur, Koga Saburo, Sugawara, and Pluto are awesome.

I too prefer Liliths old one.

I like Omoikane, Pluto, Tenkai, and the archangels are alright.

Koga-Saburo makes me chuckle since his pose makes him look like he's about to go skiing.

Most of the new designs are alright.

Minotaur is effing boss as hell.

The Four Archangels are rad...but Lilith is not. Her design looks like it should belong to a fallen angel character, not Lilith, who already has an established backstory in the verse.

Louis's first form is ugly and kinda dumb looking, but his second form is kinda cool looking, even if nothing like his other forms.

The demon with Tayama has the smuggest pose. I love it.

That's the one.

I remember people thinking he was Masakados cause he was on one of Japans game magazine covers alongside Isabeau and Flynn.

Turns out he's the reason Tayama is so smug.

Well, that makes sense too.

While the game looks fun, what the fuck is with the monster designs? It's like the artists just started drawing and never stopped adding details. The design of Lucifer looks especially bad.

Different artists doing different new designs.

I know several of them look awesome, despite being different form each other.

Well, the Archangels and the, uh, Big Angry Chaos Demons looks way too overdesigned, IMO.

Those aren't the only new designs.

Well, I hope to god they're better than those designs, because I'd never know those were archangels unless I was told.

Those designs are Bayonetta as hell.

The demon designs are strange yet intriguing.

Neutral Route spoilers:

• Kill the White Men like in the other paths. STEVEN tells Flynn that he has to restore the goddess and Masakado
• Flynn wake up to Isabeau. She says everything is fucked, demons are pouring out of the gate, the angels are in naraku. it's going to be all out war.
• Flynn goes to Fujiwara/Tsugihagi, the latter says Lucifer has been resurrected, and that shit is hopeless. Burroughs mentions the protector of Tokyo, Tsugihagi freaks out, demands that Flynns tell him the name. The guy playing enters MASAKADO.
• Tsugihagi gives Flynn the katana. He unsheathes it. Fujiwara says the day has finally come. Tsugihagi tells Flynn a story about how Tsugihagi had slain Masakado alongside a 'young man' and that's why he possesses the katana. Him and Masakado became the ceiling of Tokyo, which kept the missles of war from destroying the land.
• Fujiwara says with the power of Masakado they can be saved from the war between demons and angels. They now have the means to resurrect him.

His current form is small and deformed and they have to go on quests to restore him to full power.

So Masakado is the Neutral route's equivalent of Lucy and Merkabah?

Interesting.

Patch-face wasn't Masakado after all, but the guy who killed him? I wonder just who is he. Since he has that obvious patch-face.

Going on quests to revive Masakado revives me a bit of SMTII, but there, you were gathering his body parts, not doing things to restore him to power.

Who is the goddess STEVEN mentioned, I wonder?

Makes sense. Masakado was more or less the closest thing to a "Neutral equivalent" to Louis and Satan in SMTII. Not exactly by much (he isn't nearly as important to the plot) but yeah.
