Well, it gives the phrase "Resident Evil" a proper name again.

I have to wonder, maybe this one is gonna be a much smaller scale version of Resident Evil 4? How it'll follow a similar story about a cult taking over a rural area through parasites/viruses, but expanding the village to the whole game, and making their plans be more of a Texas Chainsaw Massacre style family cabal who use their monsters to get away with whatever insane, deprived things they want to do as family tradition?

I will say, i'm torn on the idea of it being first person. While it was executed well in the demo, i'm not sure how well it fits the series, or if i'd like to play a whole game like that.

Looks like Outlast 2, except it's not.

No zombies so far...

And the fact that this game takes place after Resident Evil 6 has me even more curious.

That trailer was certainly strange....

To be fair the demo was stated to have little to do with the final product, with the final product having different characters, more environmental variety, combat that isn't a gun fest, the classical puzzle stuff and additional mechanics etc.

The fact that this mere demo interested people more than the last two games is saying something.

Not sure about that unless this is a playable flashback or something since apparently this game takes place after RE 6.

Time travel could maybe work. I mean, it's not that farfetched after all the weird stuff Umbrella did in the other games.

As stupid as the series have gotten, time travel would kill it for me.

Resident Evil was always stupid.

Just because the bio-weapons in Resident Evil defy physical rules etc doesn't mean suddenly introducing time-travel would make any sense at all.

Well cloning and possession, or whatever the heck happened in Revelations 2, are a thing now after all.

Even then that seems a bit plausible for the game's lore. Suddenly throwing in time travel because lol why not doesn't work that way and is totally off the rails.

Except it kinda sorta is. How else do you explain the axe being locked up before you watch the video tape but then being unlocked after you unlock the cabinet in the video tape?

It actually makes sense for Alex to essential brainwash Natalia into being like she is like conditioning her mind. It's just the bad end where she gets super-powers that takes me out of things. Then again in 5 people could survive being a VOLCANO >:(

So there's something I noticed in the demo. During the Tape-01 segment, if you look into the fridge, the meat chunks you find in the present aren't there. Now I may be wrong about this one, but when I thought about it, given that Andre gets killed in the tape, and you can't quite tell what the meat chunks are...

When I saw the missing chunks for the first time, I thought, "Oh god, that's gonna be one of the guys, isn't it.

Another fun note: in the conference, you can hear people saying "Oh god, not Kitchen!" and "I hated Kitchen!" when the footage starts up. Which is less likely due to quality, and more due to the Nightmare Fuel.

Hmm...I'm not quite sold on it yet. Mainly because I have no context to go by for why the player character is fleeing so badly from that strange woman.
