.... I realized why I keep complaining about studios becoming worse. ...because anytime they make something that solidifies their uniqueness, they follow it up with a slice-of-life anime that doesn't ever seem different than other mundane anime at all!

[up][up] the main girl has Kill La Kill styled boxing gloves at the end.

Your argument is invalid. tongue

Although, I would love to see Trigger do a season of High School Dx D, just for kicks.

This looks terrible. Like, Kampfer-grade STUPID.

Those are some rather bold statements. Just because it won't be anything like Kill La Kill, doesn't mean it'll be bad. :/

That's rather ironic given the amount of people who wanted the OVA to be a KLK Slice of Life.

[up][up]This. Being "mundane" doesn't automatically mean it'll suck. Not every work has to be better than the last.

And why are we suddenly pretending Kill La Kill was some incredible masterpiece that's impossible to top?

@neo:

.An off buttonon th back of his suit? really?! 2. I thought kagyou absorbed all the life fibers, how did hammue get the ones for the shadow clones? 3. She left the scissors, one of the last things she had of her dad, in space and then let them sink into the ocean?.

There ya go.

Kill la Kill is a cult classic that has a ton of fans but it is at best fairly good work and not the masterpiece that everyone makes it to be.

Of course not, it was made no where near Amsterdam. To be serious though, it was a fun, fairly well done show. Probably the most fun show I've seen in a while.

It ain't no Ghibli, but it's very good at what it aims to do.

No show can beat FMA Brotherhood, as far as I'm concern.

Besides, after the light novel adaptation, they are doing Ninja Slayer next

If their Ninja Slayer ever gets dubbed, it'll be one hell of an adaptationception.

I think I commented about the next Trigger anime the first time it came up in this thread. Let me find that...

So Trigger will follow Kill la Kill by a Slice of life with fantasy elements Light Novel adaptation?

That's a step down if I ever saw one.

Yeah, that's about right.

Remember, even studios we think are unique still have to do projects to get money to do better ones (like Ninja Slayer).

I find it more amusing than anything. I kind of associate this kind of thing with Kyo Ani or something. I might even watch this if it turns out to be good.

About Ninja Slayer... not very hyped. The summary just sounds like taken from Eighties B-movie, or maybe a parody of one.

"Kenji Fujikido was an average salaryman until his family was killed... BY NINJAS! Is he bad enough dude to get revenge? Find out on the next episode of... THE NINJA SLAYER!

Yeah, it might turn out to be good, but I won't be coming in with great expectations.

These are guys who made Fooly Cooly and Panty And Stocking, as well as this series.

The description is merely another dumb awesome thing that Trigger likes making.

Ninja Slayer has potential to be good, as long as they embrace the craziness of the premise. Trying to be serious about it will probably end with failure.

Kill La Kill takes itself seriously enough that it becomes hilarious.

The creators of the original source material have outright stated that it's a parody of what Americans think a ninja is like and it takes itself so seriously it becomes funny, kinda Like Axe Cop or studio triggers own Inferno Cop (the director that directed that is directing Ninja Slayer, in fact).

I expect that new show to be a combination of Mako-tier insanity with Azumanga Daioh or Hidamari Sketch or something.

Better still, have it be a pseudo-sequel to KLK with Mako and Ryuko in the background.

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!
