I never had that problem with GIMP. Pick another resize algorithm or saving/export format/compression?

Usually no one comments on it when I upload an image, so I think it might be my own eyes, but as far as different settings, I've tried lots of different things, but usually I get the same result. Although I used Paint.NET for the image up top and that worked like a charm.

I think this
◊ image works really well. I'd resize and upload it, but GIMP always makes the image blurry for me. Also de-yellowify it a tinge.
