In my more serious graphic novel I'm designing a sociopathic neo-nazi character who likes to torture his enemies. And I'm thinking on making this character as a mash-up of The Joker from Batman and the infamous nazi doctor Joseph Mengele(his looks and name resembles him). Would this thing work?

Not to be blunt, but if written well just about anything can work.

I do this a lot with settings, but I've thought about mashing together a historical figure and a fictional or mythological character, like Poseidon and Marie Antoinette. The character's guild name is Tide Caller and she is a nymfairy of the house of shadows and sharks; she rules the water folk and wields a trident (like Poseidon) but is impulsive and insecure (like Marie Antoinette according to the movie). Unfortnately, I haven't done much in the way of development.

Anyways, I think you can pull it off; it's just a matter of how much you want to take from each person when forming the character. Like, if you take three traits from the nazi dude then take three traits from the other guy, so the character is truly an equal composite (that is if you want him to be equal parts of each). Go for itgrin
