I'm just a person who writes random short stories just as a hobby. Rather recently, I started writing something that quickly became more serious than the other crazy things I usually write.

What I was wondering was if an unusual story that doesn't take itself very seriously could still deal with themes that would normally be associated with a story of a... higher caliber.

Just wanted to see what people thought.

As long as you are able to clash them well and respectfully, anything could happen.

Good writing can move mountains.

[up][up] Might I suggest you check out The Lucifer And Biscuit Hammer? It has a nice balance of silly and serious, and there's a lot of silly.

In other words, yes, all that matters is good writing.

Looks crazier than my story for sure. I'm just always plagued by self-doubt. Wanted to get someone else's opinion.
