no, really, the lack of an asterisk gauntlet is a serious negative. that was the best thing about the end of Default
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaSo why don't we brainstorm fun (not fun) possible gauntlets.
Like, I can imagine a Ventriloquism-toting Bella heading a magic team or something.

Heart of StoneI eventually crushed Team Fire. Anything this game could pull out, I could try.
ah man, the lack of Kaiser would be tragic, though. Imagining a team with Nikolai and Deys on it. Every few turns, after some huge attack, possibly with poison added to your team, Nikolai would use Calm, and Denys would use Winter Storm, preventing your team from healing yourself or damaging the enemy for several turns.
Bella with Ventriloquism joined by Mepillia and Ominas. She throws Spirit Rain at you, and Ominas and Mephillia follow up with Flare (Rain) and Susano-o Rain.

I have a message from another time...Brainstorm?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.My idea was basically Team Mega Magic with Bella and Angelo taking the places of Yulyana and Qada.
Whatever. Y'all knew what I meant.

Heart of StoneAlso good, though I liked the idea of Angelo paired with Alternis.
For bonus points, Angelo turns Bella into a Ghost so that you can't just take her out first and stop the Rain.
I have a message from another time...To be fair, Asterisk Gauntlet wasn't postgame.
But yeah, I do wish there was one.
it might as well be post game with team fire >_>
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaWhat's hilarious is that Team Fire would be perfectly legit in this game.
So, I was thinking something (spoilers for the very end of the game, and the final boss)
So, Providence's first form. Looks like a big raven or crow, right? Well, I was looking over a description of Tanabata, since it's been noted that Vega and Altair's story is almost certainly a reference to that (having the names of the stars that represent the characters of that story), and I was wondering; what if Providence is meant to specifically resemble a magpie? In some versions of the Tanabata story, Orihime and Hikoboshi (Vega and Altair) are able to meet for one day a year, because magpies take pity on their plight and form a bridge across the Milky Way with their wings. Wouldn't it be quite the bit of irony, then, for the being cruelly keeping Vega and Altair apart in this game's story to resemble a magpie?

I have a message from another time...enlong is a smart
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaIsn't Deneb a fairy in some versions of Altair and Vega's story?
Well, Deneb is a star, which makes sense if Deneb is a Celestial like her friends Vega and Altair. According to Wikipedia, Deneb's position in the night sky either marks the location of the magpie bridge that lets the two of them meet, or is a fairy who guides them to meet each other on that one night a year. So that's funny. Providence and Anne represent, and subvert, two different versions of what allows the two to meet (Like I said, the magpie bridge is one of several interpretations of the story). But yeah, that does raise questions as to Deneb's significance and allegiance. However, if Anne and Providence subvert the roles of the fairy or magpies, then perhaps Deneb is the true purpose of the star, setting things up such that they can meet again.

I have a message from another time...So.. Uh, the moon's gone... What now?
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-Maethe courage to try again
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaTalk to everyone.
If you truly get stuck, I can give you a hint. But talk to everyone, and you should be able to get clues as to how to move forward.
And if all else fails, follow the yellow marker, wherever it may appear
I have a message from another time...Lol i figured it out really shortly after posting. This game is amazing.
Hmm.. disliking how little has changed thus far :/

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeEverything changes right from the beginning.
Remember, your goal is to go back and stop the Kaiser back when you had the opportunity. Bravely Second is the courage to take a second chance!

As a note, when the moon disappears, the encounter rate is replaced entirely by Ba'als. Very handy for filling up their Bestiary entries.
Is that even a thing?
doesn't the disappearance of Vega along with the moon disable your bestiary? Not to mention the super high levels on those overworld Ba'als.
I have a message from another time...It is most definitely a thing. It's how I filled my entries instead of waiting to Update Data every day.
The trade-off is that, yeah, you do want to do this late in the game when you can actually handle them (especially Goldie), and also the fact that the journal doesn't update normally until you switch to another chapter and kill an enemy there.
OKAY! I think I've finally got an endgame team.
Tiz: Youkai/Summoner: Good Measure/M Attack Up/MP Recover/Glace (for Ethers)
Edea: Dark Knight/Hawkeye: Dawn of Odyssey/Dual Wield/Eagle Eye
Yew: Astrologian/Time Mage: Limit Breaker/Group Cast All/MP Recover/M Def Up
Magnolia: Wizard/Summoner: Good Measure/Ventriloquism
Alls I have to do is remember to not accidentally buff my enemies.

Heart of StoneFunny enough, once again I figured it out shortly after posting.
i'm really not liking the fact that i have to choose the decisions i disagree with in my second run if i want all the asterisks, especially since my first choices all had good endings :/

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeDang it. I want to try a Ghost strategy with one of my characters, but I keep missing my own guy wjth Ghostly Ganache. After setting up Lucky Day. Might be easier to just use up a slot on Ectoplasm.
I have a message from another time...Dang. Nobody in the team can restore a character's MP or BP when they're Ghosted. So much for using Spellcraft Rain with Full Charge every turn.
I have a message from another time...
That's probably why there isn't a jobmaster gauntlet. Can you even imagine?
