That hasn't been announced yet. Worst case would be that there will be another Updated Re-release and only that gets localized.
Worst case is no localization.
I have a message from another time...Yeah but that would be highly unlikely considering how decisively more successful BD was in the west.
Yeah, BD won things like "Gamespot 3DS game of the year", etc. It was well received and sold decently well I believe.
It will be localised.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.Square Enix are bringing over pretty much everything now so the chances of them bringing over it here are really high.
The localisation for this game was lovely. They even kept the Japanese text, which is one thing that's always missing from the english versions. My dream combination of English VA - Japanese text has come true. :D
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI'll be very pleased if it gets localized, and I imagine that it'd be the logical thing to do, if I were in charge of such decisions.
It's just that every month that goes by without any hint as to the existence of plans to localize it (let alone a release dare) gets me worried.
I have a message from another time...It could be they'll hold off until it's time for an updated rerelease again. I'd be surprised, given the success of the original, but you're right, it's strange that they've delayed until now.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username. To be fair, it hasn't even released in Japan yet.
Etrian Odyssey II Untold just got an announcement for a western release, and it's been out since November.
Just give it a few months' time, and it's likely we'll see an announcement.
I'm certain they're aware of the hype this game already has. Anticipation can be encouraged, built up - they can let it explode when it's reached a certain point.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username. Also got this recently. I'm really surprised at how polished this thing is in terms of crafting your own experience. Music and world building are neat, too.
I hear it's very easy to break this game. Do the Ba'al's I keep having sent to me have enough bulk and power to make all those broken builds entertaining?
Yes, very much so. Here's the thing: you can break the game in a lot of ways. However, come a few certain bosses, you'll need to.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.By rough rule of thumb, if you haven't been struggling with the game up until the fourth reigon, you'll be getting a nasty wakeup call when you try to complete a sidequest involving Dragons.
Mind you, there's plenty of tough bosses between then and the start. Asterisk bosses are a suddenly painful upgrade from random encounters, and Story bosses are a suddenly painful upgrade from Asterisk bosses.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Basically, it's remarkably easy to break the game in half.
You need to, because the game is totally willing to break you back.
Actually been struggling ever since I first ran into Jackal. I've been trying to keep my level relatively low by turning off experience until I hit a wall, so I can experiment with different classes but not be so powerful that those experiments are meaningless.
They will never be. Don't gimp yourself, the game is more than willing to do it for you.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Is that the new Asterisk battle theme or something?
Also, the continued and absolute lack of Ringabel (or you-know-who, for that matte) still strikes me as significant.

I have a message from another time...I did exactly this my first playthrough - don't. You might think you're overleveled for a certain area, then realise you're totally underlevelled for the next one. This game increases difficulty massively very quickly. Those respawning myconids in Florem butchered me my first time there, and made me realise that "overlevelled" meant being in the 40s by that point, not early 20s as I was.
My name is Addy. Please call me that instead of my username.Talking about levels, what level do I need to be at the Twilight Palace? (I think that's right)
"You can't swallow what I'm thinking!!"I've just beaten Artemia and am about to go back to see Sage Yulyanna, and other than having to re-try a couple of boss fights, I don't feel particularly under powered. If anything Artemia was so easy, and blitzkrieging Mephilia after I put her mooks to sleep was so smooth, I kinda wish I was a little less leveled.
Even managed to survive the level 3 summon with a bit of ability and gear finagling. With just 58 HP, but surviving's surviving.
Why doesn't every game just let you turn off random encounters? That is easily one of my favorite things about this - it almost never feels frustrating progressing because cheap game overs are virtually unheard of.
So I can't get the first ending to trigger: The crystals just don't break, no matter long I sit there and press x. I'm actually trying right now, and been pressing x continuously for the past ~5 minutes, and nothing's happening. Does anyone know what do about this/will I miss out on anything particularly good if I just give up on the first ending?
You have to press it faster. Think of it as an invisible bar that you need to fill up, but one that's also draining at a constant rate. You can keep it up forever without filling it if you don't mash your heart out.
Also, I think you need to be in chapter 5 (maybe 6) before it's even a thing you can do.
I don't know where you are, but I feel that needs to be known.
I have a message from another time...
What is the ETA of this game in North America?
