Eric never came off as severely powerful to me. Damn good, though. But the storyline had him barely working with the rangers, which is why he didn't get jobbed so quickly. It made sense. They only generally job them when they're a major part of the team. Trent realistically was still immensely powerful. As you said, only cause his powers were being drained was he on par. Once he defeated his clone, he quickly outranked the rest.

My whole point was that Eric was not not always a hyper powerful sixth ranger. He was still damn good, but there are other examples. I'd still say the Omega Ranger has him beat in true power(albeit, he has future tech, so that's justified. All of the rangers in Time Force had future tech too, of course. So they were mostly on par. The Quantum Power was likely intended to be a bit stronger than the basic Time Force suits. That's why it had its own power box even). Titanium Ranger was pretty immense himself, even after having a heel-face turn. They didn't job him much at all, just Diabolico tried to force him to not wear the suit often. Both his zord and powers were kept pretty intact power tiers-wise. The original Green Ranger is strange. He kind of did get jobbed, but only against newer and/or more powerful foes. He keeps kicking Goldar's ass, and let's be frank, Goldar got jobbed hard, especially after he got his wings(ironically, since that was supposed to be a power boost).

Let's just say the show has some serious writing problems. Most of it either due to the source footage, or that they want to make teamwork a key aesop. If the sixth ranger can kick too much ass on his own, the other ones become pointless. So they have to find an excuse to job them, sometimes done in a justified way(Dino Thunder), or something where it made no sense(Lunar Wolf Ranger just suddenly became less effective. His character stayed good, but he became mostly another typical ranger). Super Megaforce Silver after a few moments was on par with the rest. He had his moments, but he had to get a super mode very quickly on. Albeit, I think that's more due to Super Megaforce having a short episode list available and they had to speed up characterization and power-ups. A lot of the Megazord combos in even regular Megaforce had few moments. Robo Knight's own Megazord showed up the most.

It's not really writing problems, it's the inherent struggles with writing a fantasy-based action show and telling a complete story with characters going from rookie heroes into experienced warriors combating the Sorting Algorithm of Evil. So yes, the power levels of any particular character will fluctuate according to the drama needed for the episode and the current status quo.

I kind of like the suit design. Maybe it doesn't quite have a movie polish (Dragon Shield is extra shiny plus the grieves and gauntlets are a little too smooth) but it is definitely an attempt to make it more badass than solid color spandex. I liked the texture around the torso.

Not fond of how the helmet turns silver when he gets his dagger. Sort of too much silver, look gaudy (And that's from someone who liked the green ranger helmet with silver crest from Dino Thunder).

In this age, every famous actor will get some silly "Before they were famous" video to pop up. For Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad makes the whole "He did monster voices for Power Rangers" rather amusing. He has said he enjoyed the experience, they paid him well to sit in a recording booth and scream in a silly voice for a few hours. For an actor struggling to get any roles to pay the bills, they can't be picky about a job that comes their way.

It would be awesome if they got Cranston for the upcoming movie.

Hey you know what I think would be a cool motif for a Ranger/Sentai team. Gods of mythological pantheons

Red - Amaterasu

Blue - Poseidon

Green - Cabrakan

Yellow - Bast

Pink - Freyja

Black - Rama

Don't know who your deity for Green is.

Also, Amaterasu very strongly implies a female Red. Not that it's a bad thing, but just saying.

I know of Egyptian, Greek/Roman and Norse, but I'm not familiar with a lot of other Pantheon-based mythologies. A lot of cultures have powerful gods but aren't as well organized (ie Ruler of the Gods, God of the Dead, God of the Ocean).

An Egyptian mythology based team would be cool especially given they are already heavily associated with animal motifs. Greek Mythology also has a strong visual element with their gods (Artemis-bow and arrow, Zeus-lighning bolt, Hades-forging hammer). But one that picks and chooses from various mythologies will be hard because the design scheme would be hard to unify.

Cabrakan is the Mayan God of earthquakes and mountains.

This is something that occured to me a while in regards to Forever Red. I don't know if this was on purpose by the writers, but the pairings we see in the episode make more sense when you take into account each Red Ranger's history:

Jason and Cole - The first and current Red Ranger respectively. And while it's a controversial moment, Cole destroying Serpentera could be considered a sort of 'passing-the-torch' moment from Jason as he succeeds where the first Red Ranger failed.

Tommy and Wes - Both have been paired with their teams respective Pink Rangers (though only Tommy became an official couple with Kim and later Kat, whereas Wes and Jen settled unresolved sexual tension.

T.J and Leo - The two had worked together previously in the Lost Galaxy/In Space team up.

Eric and Aurico - Two Red Rangers who were never the leaders of their respective teams. Also both their teams were led by females.

Carter and Andros - Both had teams with Silver Rangers. Also had heroic careers before their respective teams were formed (Carter was fire fighter and Andros served as one of Zordon's many warriors and was a Red Ranger already before meeting the Turbo Rangers).

While I am glad they dropped the "Rangers are still in high school" thing pretty quickly in Space (ironic given the source material of the Sentai), at least they avoided making Andros a student. I like how in "A Ranger Among Thieves", the other rangers tell Andros to enjoy Angel Groove while they attend classes rather than try to pass off the Human Alien as a foreign exchange student or something like that.

Pretty sure it's Angel Grove. Not Groove.

A grove is a type of location, as an area surrounded by trees.

A groove is what you do when you bust out your super-awesome dance moves.
