Does Not Illustrate: Sequel Difficulty Spike

I'm really just trying to figure out whether this page really is one of those pages that don't need an image or if we're just saying that 'cause it's easier to say that. But if most people believe this page actually can't have or doesn't need an image, then I'm not going to contest that. After reading , I agree that the Kingdom Hearts suggestion isn't good.

I was thinking something in the HUD would make it clear the game is more difficult, but now that I've suggested that that sounds like another trope (i.e. changing the controls from one installment to the next; I can't remember the name, but I've seen it around somewhere).

I suppose the image, if this trope really could use one, would need to show mooks from two different games—one being non-threatening while the other being imposing or otherwise more intimidating. The first game's image would need more health in the HP bar than the second, I suppose.

If this had to have an image, my first instinct would be Mega Man Battle Network. Like, show a typical V3 boss (or even a bonus boss) from 1 doing a piddly attack. Then juxtapose it with an omega boss from 3 — say, Bubble Man — with twice as many HP, cluttering most of your side of the field with fish and crabs, and hiding behind his rock just to top off the insult.
