Any character guilty of doing that was either a spy or secretly evil.
Isn't that how drama is generated in nearly every type of TV show, be it an actual drama, Reality TV, sitcom, or action?
Yes but the trick is to give a good reason why, otherwise it's just "Yo dawg, I herd you like misunderstandings with your misunderstandings,so I put some misunderstandings in your misunderstandings!".
x5 So what you're saying is that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence?
Trump delenda estI think the crush of Fitz on Skye had only one purpose, to add the scene in which Skye tells him how great his relationship with Simmons is which in turn makes him see her in a light he never considered beforehand.
I don't think that the "misunderstandings" were in any way problematic. They were mostly the result of spies being spies after all, and the stuff which could be talked out, was talked out pretty much immediately. It's not like they dragged out Skye's secret abilities for multiple seasons, or like May didn't confront Coulson about his sneaking around the moment she had the opportunity. Even seeing Coulson with Ward didn't turn into a "he betrayed us!" witch hunt.
The problem with being a spy in an agency of spies is that everyone you work with is a spy.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Ward and Coulson was the one I was really worried about, since they were setting up a rift between Skye and SHIELD. But no, she just accepted that the director would have a good reason to work with a known traitor, and everything was fine next time they saw each other.
She already knew the reason he would have for working with a traitor; she was part of that reason.
May only doubted Coulson because she was confronted with evidence that he really was up to shenanigans, and then her faith in him was restored upon discovering what those shenanigans actually were.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3."You were doing this all to help the Avengers?"
"Yup"
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Surprise!"
"Thats a really unwelcome word working at an intelligence agency."
"Well somebody hates fun."
For some reason I thought this thread didn't exist, because we already had the MCU thread. Huh.
Now I don't remember most of the thoughts I had when I finished watching the second season, other than: 1) hahahah, why is there a slow mo fight sequence in the last episode? It's the first and last slow motion fight sequence in the entire series; 2) WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED IN THAT STINGER!?!? ;_;
Oh, also, when discovered there was a second season I was like: "... Oh, nice they made a second season for Agents of SHIELD... Wait, they've already finished the second season and confirmed there's a third one coming, what!?"
But is there any reason the conflict with real SHIELD had to involve storming the base, Coulson going on the run, and all the subsequent sneaking around?
It's not like they suspect Coulson of anything malicious; they just disagree with his policy decisions and think he might have mental problems. Overthrowing him by force is rather extreme for a first response, especially when their superior resources and manpower gives them plenty of leverage to use in negotiations.
Storming the base wasn't the first option - they only did that because their moles were compromised.
Really, their goal was to get Fury's Toolbox and find out Coulson's secrets, but when Coulson figured out that Mack was a mole (and May walked in on Bobbi), their plans were thrown out the window and they had to call for backup. If they were caught, Gonzalez probably thought they were in danger from Coulson, whom he thought was influenced by the alien blood.

All the Marvel TV shows have their own separate threads, plus the Marvel Netflix series general discussion for discussing those shows as a whole.
Anyways, welcome to the Agents of SHIELD thread! As for what happened to Simmons all we know is that the actress is still signed on as a series regular in Season 3. Apparently after the actress read the script for the finale she spent the next day hanging around someone important just to see if they had anything to talk to her about and they never did.
My guess is that she'll be turned into an anti-Inhuman weapon. Initially she might be co-opted the way Mack was by the Kree City, but once that's sorted out she might be able to retain some anti-Inhuman abilities and be able to use them to aide the Secret Warriors. Being able to sense the presence of Inhumans or disable (or at least counter) their abilities could come in handy when trying to track down or fight rogue Inhumans.
New Comic Con Poster Nothing pretty interesting, except Coulsons new robotic arm.
Tis the great art of life to manage well The restless mindHave they? Out of the Real Shield lot only Bobby has shown a gender preference. Likewise I don't think Gordon ever showed a gender preference nor did Rayna or any of the Hydra people other than Ward. Did Trip every express gender preferences? Has Lincon shown any gender preferences?
Now I'm sure I've forgotten moments and the list is a lot shorter, but I'm pretty sure Mack isn't the only major character to not express a gender preference.
What I'd find amusing would be if next season Rising Tide comes back, it includes an ex girlfriend of Sky's, nobody is shown to care slightly that it's an ex girlfriend as opposed to an ex boyfriend and it's treated as totally normal.

“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranBesides which, expressing an attraction to one gender does not prove an absence of attraction to the other gender.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Yeah, it's entirely possible that several characters are bi, with Fitz being hinted at a bit.
Edit: Looking at the poster, who's that underneath Lincon (who being featured on the poster can be considered confirmed as a new regular)?

“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI don't think any of those are what alliterator was considering a "main character". Well, except maybe Trip, but he was side lined so heavily that might not count. I think their meaning was "main crew". alliterator probably should have worded better, but I think their meaning was that no one of the main crew, the ones we followed closely through the whole season (which doesn't include people like Rayna, Lincoln and Gordon who are important but situational). And, indeed, I actually think Mack is the only one to not have shown explicitly attraction for anyone ever.
IT is just Ward, isn't it?

It took me a minute to realize that the guy underneath Mack was Lincoln, not Fitz with a beard.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Have they? Out of the Real Shield lot only Bobby has shown a gender preference.
Notice how I wrote "out of every main character" not out of every character period. Out of the Real SHIELD, only Bobbi and Mack are main characters.
The Comic-Con poster looks awesome. Can't wait to see Coulson's new robotic hand.
I'm assuming that Fitz ends up making Coulsons new hand.
Tis the great art of life to manage well The restless mindSurprise Robert Downey Jr?
"You can reply to this Message!"I read that a lot, but I doubt that they will bring in an Avenger anytime soon and if they do, they probably will do it for something bigger. Besides, Fitz should be more than capable to build a robot hand for Coulson.

You lost! They might not have the budget for bigger. RDJ's face is much more affordable than the CGI Iron Man suit.

So, I'm most of the way through Season 2 at this point, and it did it annoy anyone else how much of the conflict in this season was driven by characters just refusing to talk to each other for not adequately explained reasons?
