I could do that, but personally I think it's better with the "he's there, he's vanishing, he's gone" sequence. I can shrink it down a bit if it's too big.

Hm... That reminds me of when Yoda dies. Same reason as Obi-Wan, but you can see him fade away.

[up] Both are good, although I lean toward Yoda.

[down] That crossed my mind...I certainly won't complain if the DC pic is used.

I lean against Yoda. They're perfectly equivalent in terms of content, but we've got a million and one Star Wars images. Why not give this to something with a little less exposure?

I lean towards the dying Mystic, partly because it gives exposure to an otherwise underrepresented really good film but mostly because I think the images are clearer and less cluttered than the Yoda ones.

Speaking of underrepresented films, could you please tell me where 49 is from?
[down] Thank you.

[up]The Dark Crystal, when "The Wisest of the Mystics" dies right after being the Quest-Giver for the rest of the film.

Uploaded and ready. "Going, going... gone!" grin

Who does the work of putting the pic on the page? The uploader (me) or the OP?

[up] That looks good. To answer your question, anyone can add the pic to the page once a consensus is reached, but I'm the one who often does it.

One or two more [tup]s for the Dark Crystal pic and we can run with it.

The only thing I'd say about the Dark Crystal one is that it takes three images to convey the trope. That said, there's nothing wrong with the Dark Crystal one if you need an extra vote.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.

[up] That's pretty much what's needed for any good example.

  1. Here
  2. Fading
  3. Gone

Good enough. The pic's up, potholed, and tagged. Caption or no? I'm leaning toward no.

I say no caption. It's not needed. The collage does all the work, as a good page image should.
